Games like this make me wish we were more of a 'see ball get ball' team. We are more worried about our opponents and are second to the contest almost every time. No wonder we're giving away so many frees - umpires will almost always reward first to the ball, and tonight it ain't us.....

For some reason the bookies had us favourites for this game. I couldn’t believe it. The dogs were tipped to be a top 6 side this year and we were tipped to be bottom 6.

We are a young side who are going to be inconsistent. Our forward line is being led by two players who have played a total of 1 game between them as a key forward in the last 12 months (Sinclair and McLean).

We have been poor but go easy on the melts.
