Really enjoying Florent's continued improvement at getting the hard ball too. He still wastes too much possession for my liking with his disposal, but he is developing nicely.
Pretty turgid game to be fair - we did well to drag Richmond down to our level in that second quarter, but we don't look to have anywhere near enough goals in us with our undersized team.
Enjoying the look at Stephens and Warner's had a couple of moments too."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

On the other hand, Horse and papa Blakey really have to drop Blakey Jnr. He's done nothing all year, he'll be a good player but he needs a stint on the sidelines.Comment
-
Blakey struggling - to be expected. Greasy ball now - we might have a chance.
Hayward looking OK in his new role. Really like McLean.
And Stephens looks great in his first game.Comment

So, given what that was and how young we are, the effort was terrific.
Of the young guys, Stephens looked natural, and McLean, O’Riordan and dare I say it, Hayward looked very good.
Heeney and Rowbottom fantastic.
The sludgy ball movement and lack of targets will probably hurt us, but can’t fault the endeavour'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Where’s Parker , was he injured too in that qtr ? Unsighted.
On the plus , COR looks good providing some run , Hayward and McLean both looked good in defence. Heeney and Rowbottom playing well. Stephens having a pretty good debut.

Those is just one of many posts calling our club and it's coaches stupid so I'm not attacking you personally Wolfie but why don't we all just calm down a bit re: the late dropping of Alliir and wait for the full story? ABC commentators reckon he must be injured.....I tend to agree.Comment

Blakey is really struggling in part because we have absolutely no consistency in forward delivery, and he is getting good defenders. He's like a potential T-Rex trying to eat off a few sticks and stones thrown in at random every few minutes or so."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Stephens has been OK. Sam Gray can head back to Adelaide, he is useless. I am sick of Blakey being pushed aside, has he no core strength?Comment
-
Yes, McLean has stepped up. Looking a real bargain, for the supplementary pick that he was. Is he actually off the rookie list, yet?Comment
-
What are your thoughts on the Mills deliberate? When I saw it live I thought it was a free because he just stepped over the line. However, the replay showed that Riewoldt pushed him over the line so I don't think it should have been a free. Cost us a goal but that's typical Stevic.Comment

I like the way our game plan is developing. Once we get our experience up, we should go alright.
It's not compelling football, but the coaching staff have worked out a good plan for this game. We had some good passages of play and look well organised, considering the lack of experience.Comment

McLean reads the ball well in the air and has taken some crucial intercepts to cut off multiple attacking raids. Pretty good with his disposals as well. When we get some talls back, he could be a very good KP defender, maybe a second coming of Reg or Teddy (one can only hope!).Comment
