Swans chat Is Robbie Fox our new Nick Smith?

One of the finds of the year along with McCartin going down back. Suddenly our young back line is looking pretty good.

a fair few supporters thought he could give that role a go if given the chance.........

while we stack the back of the field and or win the centre bounce a previous VFL level player can play that role........heck we even have another previous VFL player killing it also !

If we dont stack the back and or dont win the middle it would be interesting to see how one on one Foxy goes.............from what i have seen I would like to see him stay in the team and progress

I thought Robbie Fox was playing as a tall defender, despite his size. Or did he play small yesterday?

He does have the versatility to do both roles. How well only time will tell.

I'm loving the Fox too. His coming-of-age in the backline had been one of many positives in my opinion. Good disposal, good moustache and can take a good grab!

But isn’t Harry C the new Nick Smith?

He could be. 127 games, no Brownlow votes.

Doing a great lockdown role and giving us plenty of run out of backline.

When he consistently makes it so I don't even notice "the new Cyril Rioli" (whoever that may be), I'll say yes. Until then I'll say keep up the good work young man

Learning from one of the best, in Rampe, he has shown something this season

Lot of Nick Smith's running around out there. Is Callum Mills the new Nick Smith?

Nick Smith was our legendary defender who played in the best small forwards. To me that’s a role that Fox has not been playing but Harry C has, recently at least.

At 189cm Mills would be considered a key position defender, using the Swans scale (of recent years )

                          Rampe: 187cm
                          Fox: 186cm
                          Leapin' Leo: 184cm
                          Craig Bolton: 189cm

Cunningham (181cm) is the closest physical match for Smooch (183cm) although his pace, and kicking, would rule him out

If Robbie Fox is the new Nick Smith, then who is the new Robbie Fox?

                              I love Fox!

Not the new Nick Smith though, that's Harry Cunningham.
