Just on the Parker debate. I hope nobody has taken my comments as suggesting that Rowbottom is better than Parker. I pretty much agree with what TheBloods wrote at #41, although there is a (small) chance Rowbottom will go past him eventually. Rowbottom is quicker and possibly a better kick. Conversely, he's got a long way to go in consistency, durability, leadership, toughness and levels of production.

My comments about Parker were to suggest that possibly he has passed his peak. However, after saying that, I wondered if I wasn't being overly harsh. Obviously he is absolutely one of our best handful of players at the moment and has been since at least 2014. JPK on the other hand, I am more confident in asserting has passed his peak. Both remain very important and good players and will go down as club legends.
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

I thought he was performing well until his unfortunate concussion, which seriously affected the middle part of his season. His move down back was a revelation.

Probably more than most, but Blood Fever was talking about Parker. They are both, IMO, pretty good kicks when given a little more time and space, especially into the F50. Joey does seem to have a nice flat kick into the forwards.

Parker doesn't waste that many disposals and tries to be creative- bites off more than he can chew sometimes by hand and foot but he is a good kick generally. And a good set shot.

                  Interesting piece of trivia:
Sydney: 1371st player to appear, 29th most games played, 36th most goals kicked

Adam Spencer and Tim Watson’s unconventional review of Sydney’s 2020 season:

Sydney's left-field trade target, who deserves a pay rise and who to expect a big 2021 from

                    Watson suggests we offload Florent!

                    Spencer has this to say:

"Every year, quite a few minted, good players put their hand up and say they want to go home to Melbourne.

"No player in the history of the AFL has ever said I want to go home to Sydney.

"Last year, one high-profile player said they wanted to come to Sydney and the reaction was as though the world was on fire.“

Good article. Adam is knowledgable, Watson is a tool.

Best bit.....Which player is deserving of a pay rise?

Spencer: "I suggest that all Sydney Swans players deserve a 9.8 per cent pay rise on top of their current wages to cover the cost of living in Sydney."

Gold! ......which will fall on deaf ears.

In today's game most players have to bang it on the boot given the constant pressure, and Luke is always in the middle of the hurley burly.

My recollection is that Nick Davis, who grew up in Sydney was keen to return home. This shocked Collingwood at the time who could not imagine why anybody would possibly want to leave the mighty Carringbush to go elsewhere.

Of course, the rest is history with Nick!

Kaiden Brand, Sam Gray, Sam Naismith, I think Sam Reid. The rest were so young they’d have trouble growing facial hair

Will Hayward was our fastest player in 2020.
Surprised that Papley isn’t in the top 5 ..

Yes, Papley's first five to ten metres would be as fast as anyone in the league I would have thought.
