All excellent games ! The pies deserve a lot of credit for that win though, that was pretty special against the odds. Mason cox may be vying for LRT’s mantle of Mr September !

Agreed all the finals were great with no blow outs like other years. Hopefully it continues next week.

Would be great if competitive matches continued in the finals. But I fear Richmond might have a blow-out win over the Saints who will be without Paddy Ryder with hamstring injury (Ryder was a key player in the Saints win this weekend), and Ben Long suspended.

Also Saints may well lose Jake Carlisle who might fly back to Melbourne for birth of his third child. If Carlisle is also missing Saints will really be battling I suspect.

Perhaps Carlisle should call Richie Porte for a word of advice?

They are challenging the Long suspension, I reckon he’ll get it downgraded from medium impact as McRae played out the game.

They beat the Tigers earlier in the year and have a decent record against them recently, I think they can win. Much harder without Ryder though who was brilliant yesterday.

Collingwood are back in the hunt. Not surprised as De Goey and Treloar were short of a run last game. Treloar created a lot of run. Adams was deemed BOG but I thought Treloar was more damaging.

From the replays they showed on the night I didn't actually see high contact. I thought they both hit shoulders. Maybe I was just blinded by my disdain for the bulldogs?

edit: Nah, I wasn't looking properly, he did collect him high

I thought it was a little high, but a good hip and shoulder. Have to also admit that I enjoyed watching a Bulldog's player get crunched after what they did to Hanners in the GF.

The games went as I wanted. Good to see both Port and Lions through to the prelim finals. Of course, glad to see the bulldogs get beaten even with the extra help of the umpires. Some very cheap frees to the bulldogs. Collingwood v WCE - really didn't care, just enjoyed the game.

                      The semi-finals...
Collingwood vs Geelong. Again, I don't care who wins but I think Collingwood is a pretty good chance.
Richmond vs Saints. I'd like the Saints to win but I can't see this happening with Paddy Ryder out injured.

My hope is for a Port vs Lions gf. The last gf to feature 2 non-Vic teams was Swans vs WCE in 2006.

Will the AFL finally become the AFL.

I would like to see the Cats lose (I almost wrote Pies win ) to watch the media jump all over Chris Scott's final record

Agreed, Cats losing is going to cause a world of pain for Scott with their supporters, and potentially a meltdown in the post-match if anyone dares to be a lazy enough journalist to ask him about winning less than 20% of finals since 2011.

I'd also like to see Richmond bundled out in straight sets. Largely because of Dimma, but also because they've had an attitude of entitlement that I don't like. And I find their gameplan reductive. Think its time for a more highly skilled version of AFL to prevail.

Having solely wanted to see the Bulldogs lose last week, because - well - they are cheats . . .

This week, I want to see Dimma lose, and his team give away a 100m penalty in the final minute to cost them the game. Because - well - he sucks ...

A Geelong straight sets exit would be nice too !

Hawkins will kick 1.3 and justify why the Cats are chasing Cameron
