Sounds like they have really messed up salary management, player management and relations with players.
Here's the ABC analysts trade wrap-up with some nice charts. Suggests "middling" for the Swans outcomes is about right.

History would show that if you already have the "good" brother , hoping that the other brother is just as good is not a great bet. Id be happy to pass on Papleys brother unless he was lighting up the world. He has already probably gotten further than he deserves through his brothers reputation.Comment

Right on mate. And that's what the trade period gradings miss. For us, it was all about setting up for the draft and getting in someone who can carry the ruck position straight away. We achieved both objectives.
Can't wait for draft night; all prospects at pick 3 are genuinely exciting.Comment

No doubt the swans team will give us A shock by picking someone outside of the fan 5. Let’s hope not [emoji1696]Right on mate. And that's what the trade period gradings miss. We were always going to do Pick 3 and the 2 academy boys. Why would the club nurture these boys then do something from left field in trade week?
I have no doubt they will go for the best key position player at Pick 3 or best available.Comment

Even though they have lost good players ... I reckon Treloar and Stephenson are replaceable in their team. And they would perform alright next year. Their problem is not which players they have lost ... but what the morale of the group left over after such a disastrous communication problem.
Interestingly Tom Phillips was happy with how they communicated with him.Comment

I agree, losing those the players isn't going to hurt them much at all. It could have been a lot worse if they lost Cox, degoey, Moore or Grundy etc.Even though they have lost good players ... A PR disaster though, and may reflect morale in 2021.Comment

The deal was finalised and lodged at about 7.29 pm. The trade deadline was 7.30 pm. That doesn't leave much time to negotiate with 16 other clubs for a player."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
