Unfortunately Giants are more effective in attack right now. Leading the Swans 4.3.27 to 1.3.9 after 11 min in the second term.

Blakey looking like a Rolls Royce when he gets it. The open fast flowing footy is his bread and butter.
Hickey looking tired quickly. Sinclair not adding anything meaningful.
Mccartin doing everything right to own the key defensive role.
Papley trying to do too much every possession.

Blakey is great to watch when he gets a bit of space.

        Nice goal from Paddlebutt!

Reasonable intensity for a scratch match so far. Would be much closer on the scoreboard had we been kicking a bit better at goals. Plenty to like about a few of the guys, and great to see Heeney looking sharp!

any concerns with our step off the pace when breaking from a contest ?

do we have our midfield right in variety ? Kennedy, Parks, Mills

End of two 30 min periods (Half time?). GWS 6.4.40 Swans 2.7.19. Our problem is score accuracy

Don't understand the Rowbum naysayers on here. He's a good player, definitely one of our top on ballers and in the best 22.
Blakey looking good and primed for a big season.
Hickey looks serviceable. He won't be AA but will do a job for us. However, not sure if he will be able to ruck a whole game by himself. I suspect Sinclair will be needed to share duties.
GWS look a bit more polished and efficient with their ball movement at this stage of season 2021 but there's a long way to go.............

GWS are breaking easier from contests..........which seems to allow more anticipation on the leads for the ball and easier targets?

                      - Kennedy can still find it, but has completely butchered each disposal
                      - Mills is a legitimate midfielder
                      - Heeney will, incredibly, be ready for rd1
                      - Reid looks very rusty. He really slows down our forward line. Looked better when we kick to McDonald, Heeney and Hayward
                      - Dawson in the back half, Blakey in the middle
                      - Rowbottom finding it
                      - Campbell will be a huge asset with the new man on the mark rule (so will Ling). Incredible use and takes risks. Will be runner up the rising star
                      - Wicks and Gulden vital to our forward pressure

Also, we are clearly looking to play fast free flowing footy. Quick hands looking for runners like Blakey and Florent.
Agree 100% about Gulden and Wicks. Looks like Bell is being looked at for that role too. My issue with him is that he's just kinda around a contest but struggles to get involved and seems to drop off tackles. I'd go with Wicks R1, the boy is as tough as nails, tackles hard and can kick a goal. Gulden perfect guy to have in the best 22, play a variety of roles well if required.

Haven't seen much from Logan McDonald yet.

Very excited about Gulden and Campbell this year, but I think McDonald will probably be a bit of a slow burn.

Early days and intensity will rise as we go in regular games. But would have really liked to see more run and dash ala last few games of last season. I am sure it will come as the players get more games under their belt. At present, we look a bit slow in the midfield. Ling looks good too.

the GWS pressure around the ball is way better than ours which allows them to be cleaner.

Yes and it's not just the goal kicking. A few forward 50 marks should have been taken and a few times, Bell or Hayward got into space near goal and the clever tap on just missed them. Still, I'm fairly happy though with some of the glimpses. In the not too distant future, I think we're going to spend plenty of time, hoping for the ball to get into the hands of Blakey and Campbell.
