Wow, he does look thinner! He's not going to make 100, probably not even 95. It will be a sad day when Kenny leaves us.

As I hadn't seen him play in ages, I did my best to view his game with this perspective in mind.
I saw him go looking for "Joe the Goose" goals, he got given two I think. He also seemed to give Logan the stink eye when the kid elected to take his set shot, and then he burnt another team-mate in a better position (and scored a point). I saw no evidence of coercion, just Buddy being Buddy.

I think some people were confused by his being name down back last week, when in reality he played up forward last week - and did a great job keeping Harris Andrews out of the way. Wolfie somewhat added to the confusion by claiming he'd been training to play down back in the preseason.

He's not as physically imposing as some rucks, but he's got that raw boned awkward yet effective thing happening, between that and the hair everywhere look - he reminds me ever so slightly of LRT.

We sat at the same table as him and Mrs Kenny at the B & F a few years ago. Seriously there was a path worn into the carpet leading up
to his seat by the end of the night from people coming up to say g'day. Man, they love him at the club.

I spotted Kenny is a Panadol TV ad with Jude Bolton. Is that detail correct.

Many years ago I had the privilege to get a pass to the Swans after match function.

I said hello to a few regular celebrities, even Irene from Home and Away, but I was too shy to go and introduce myself to Kenny.

The man was the main star of the room.

Nope, Kennedy has to stay. With so many youngsters in the team you need leaders on the ground, especially against the Tiggers.

If it wasn't for our younger brigade, the score could have been far closer....
I was thinking during the game we got exposed pretty easily by the Crow quick transition and we were lucky they couldn't convert their shots on goal. I was not at the game but did the younger players seem to not run as hard back into defence or was it more of a combination of a new(ish) back line + under sized back line and a decent Crows forwards?

I think one area that the coaches will identify as an "area for improvement" is the tackling in the middle of the ground. There were some very lame efforts, with several players guilty. It can be hard to lay an effective tackle when the ball is moved through the ground in a running wave, especially using foot speed, but I don't think that totally excuses some of the tackles that were easily brushed off by Crows players.

(The Crows may well assess their own tackling efforts in the midfield similarly - they were no more able to stop our transfer of the ball through midfield than we were theirs.)

It’s pretty clear we are offensively good but defensively not so good compared to Richmond, Port Adelaide, which is funny today given how well we have been in that area of the ground in the past. With the new rules, we need elite runners who can go back to help defence and better structure around that. I think we will get there but it may take some time. Also just not having mills in defence means we leak 2 extra goals each match. Someone needs to take up his mantle this year. Maybe it is Gould / Ling / oriordan. But players like Mills are hard to replace in defence.

I do not envy the selectors at the moment. Rowbottom should be an automatic return if fit!

And who to drop again will be hard

And here's a pretty good set of Swans' player ratings: Player ratings: Sydney Swans vs Adelaide Crows, Round 2, 2021 (theswansblog.com). Better than the same author's 'talking points' for the match on the same website.
