It may be a matter of personal choice, or more specifically, having your personal choice disrespected. In that case, you and almost everybody else around you, chose to go to the football, because of an interest in football. However, those few people on their phones, were at the football, but weren't showing any interest in what was happening on the field. Which suggests that they thought there was something wrong, with everybody else's choice to watch the football. And that choice was further disrespected, by the loud anecdotes, where the person obviously thought that she was more worthy of attention, than what everyone else had paid good money to pay attention to.
And even though I haven't watched a single second of Married At First Sight, the ads that I've seen, are enough to suggest that they wouldn't be out of place.
