Stoked for the Lions. Their season was starting to be on the line if they were to go 0-3. My love for the Swans is matched by my seething dislike for the Pies. Well done Zac Bailey. Good composure after the siren.

Good work Lions. Not only because I tipped you - but because its always wonderful to see sad Magpies players and fans.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."

Schaden Fr-Eddie = gaining pleasure from the displeasure of a former Collingwood president.

I've never really taken much notice of Joe Daniher before but have watched all the Lions games this year. It wasn't hard as he hardly
ever played footy. But you can see how if he can stay healthy and get more match fitness he will really be able to tear a game apart.
That kick from pretty much the wing to Charlie Cameron one meter out was outrageous. Great finish to the game and great reaction
                        from Fagan.

Nathan Buckley confirmed my long held contention that a team can counter the effects of a dominant ruckman when having time to plan for it. Brisbane were able to win the game against one of the most dominant ruck performance in recent times. Of course, the ruckman is an important part of stoppage play, but it's not the only part and ruck dominance is not the only winning strategy.

“There’s an overemphasis on things in the game and one of the things there is an overemphasis on is hitouts. It’s not a stat that has a strong correlation,” Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley conceded post-game.

“When you know you are going to lose the hitouts, you can actually set-up pretty well at ground level to be able to buffer for that. So that’s what sides without a dominant ruckman do. "

Fagan was a delight. Also in his press conference after the match - as excited as a kid opening his birthday presents.

Yep, footy needs more Chris Fagans and less Match Day Experience operatives.
