I think this game is going nowhere. Can GWS at least start by sliding in below the knees and do some long-term knee and leg damage to Easton Wood. It’s th least he deserves.
An episode from the 2016 GF that happened right in front of us; since then, the player I most despise in the entire competition.
So far this season, Collingwood are performing about as well as I expected when I tipped them to finish in the bottom four. 17th with one win, ahead only of the hopeless North Melbourne. GWS currenlty holds Collingwood's first-round pick.

What were Adelaide thinking having Lynch as the medical sub? Not only was he injured and he hadn't trained all week, he was sitting in his warm up gear and runners and hadn't warmed up. He had to run into the rooms and change, have his ankles strapped, put his boots on and then warm up. According to channel 7 that took 13 minutes, so Adelaide were missing a player and it allowed Hawthorn to get back in the game. Very unprofessional by Adelaide.
Not only did Collingwood trade out their first round pick, they also no longer hold their own second round pick. I think they have Port's.
They were willing to trade their first pick because they figured Daicos is going to be a very early pick and their first would just get eaten up by that. But there's a chance that this move will cost them the chance to pick another elite prospect as well as Daicos.
On the other hand, if Daicos is bid upon in the first few picks, they may struggle to have enough points to match. This resource shows the picks and points equivalent held by each club based on current ladder position. (I haven't checked to see if it reflects this weekend's results, but I doubt the pertinent positions changed that much).

I wonder how it would go down in Magpie land, if GWS used their current pick 2, to bid on Daicos?
Just do it GWS!
The trade period last year was a disaster for the Pies, got no currency in this years ND, sweet! Traded out this years picks first and second to get picks in the 30s and 40s in last years compromised draft. Some of those 2020 picks are starting to play seniors now, we wait and see if the disaster will be tempered by the rash of pick trading.
I too miss those cuts to the puffy red faced Maguire when the Pies lose, great theatre :-)

Bring back Eddie! (Just for the grim faced losing shots; not the presidency).

The Pies' "current" points of 1518 grosses up to 1898, which is just short of the number of points required to match a bid at pick 4.
And that's after they are already paying a reported $300k pa for the privilege of having Treloar ripping it up in the Bulldogs' midfield.
It's all so wonderful, it's almost hard to believe it's true. When I saw Collingwood at 17th on the ladder, I was almost wishing Eddie were back to face the full on consequences of his disgraceful presidency.
Collingwood could be up for trading another decent player to make up the points deficit and ease the cap pressure of paying the Treloar 300k.

Impressive to see how invested Richmond is in this highly touted draft. They are not old and don't need to regenerate speedily and so they could afford to give up a little in past drafts and instead they can reap the rewards in this bonanza draft. Smart work.
All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)
I think the Swans should do the right thing and help out Collingwood. We can trade our second and third round picks to them which would give them the points for Daicos. We in return would relieve them of the burden of having Grundy on their list but with Buddy we are a bit short of dollars so we would expect them to chip in say $500k per year a la Treloar. To sweeten the deal we could throw in Sam Gray. Seriously the Pies need to trade out Grundy to free up cap space and room to draft in some decent kids.
