    Back in January:

    Statement from the Cleveland Browns:

"The Cleveland Browns were informed this morning that Head Coach Kevin Stefanski, two additional members of the coaching staff and two players have tested positive for COVID-19.

Our contingency planning calls for Special Teams Coordinator Mike Priefer to serve as the acting Head Coach."

While this was somewhat disruptive, Priefer went on to coach the Browns to its first playoff win since the early 90s. I suspect the well-drilled Swans will do just fine.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

It’s perfectly fair. We are still living in a Pandemic. If you chose to leave your house to go to a cafe or restaurant you run the risk of an infected person being present. It’s then your personal accountability to isolate and keep away from people.

Those coaches chose to sit in a cafe.

I personally love restaurants, cafes and being out and about. If I sit at one of those venues when an infected person is present, I’m accountable for my decision and must do my isolation time.

The fairness or lack of is in the fact that we are 3 assistant coaches short !! Seriously how hard would it have been for the AFL go make things equal by telling Melbourne they have to sit 3 coaches out !

I have the perfect solution. The Swans should invest in a Cafe quality Barista coffee machine so no one from the club needs to go to a cafe for a meeting. A few players, from both the Ones and Twos should do a Barista course and injured players should serve the coffee to earn their keep. Tea drinkers can help themselves.

I should correct myself on the tea issue. People who drink tea bags can help themselves. The Baristas should learn how to make real Chai tea using tea leaves and not the powdered version. Then again he-man footballers may think drinking Chai is being "soft".

I suspect Pyke, Cox & McVeigh will still provide some input remotely.

In regards to fairness, last year when each state had various covid restrictions on how many groups of players can train together with Vic being the most restrictive, the AFL made the Vic training restriction standard across the competition so Vic teams wouldn't be disadvantaged. (The Crows got caught breaking this). One could argue we are now disadvantaged even though the circumstances are different.

Agreed, but don't expect any measures taken to address it.

With all due respect, would any Swans supporter be in favour of the Swans sitting three of their own coaches out if three opposition coaches were isolating after having attended a cafe?

                I think not.

Swans just have to deal with it.

I think we are just dealing with it. It does not change the fact that the playing field is unequal. You won't hear Horse whinge about it at a press conference.

It would be likely that many coaching groups attend cafes. It’s a lovely thing to do and helps the economic recovery.

I don’t believe that you would be supportive of dropping three Swans assistant coaches if three of Simon Goodwins assistants were isolating due to being at a cafe at an unlucky time. In the words of Anand Sheela you would say “tough titties” to the Melbourne Demons given reverse circumstances.

It’s patently unfair, but I do believe the decision of the 3 assistants not to travel was made by the club not the AFL.

Probably stipulated by the Victorian government.
