Looked a million bucks before last Saturday. Premature anxiety.

With all the soft tissue problems and increasing age, I'd say there's a chance we will see him dropping them over from 50 and beyond less. Off the top of my head, the goals he scored earlier this year we're all from shorter ranges. He seems to be playing much closer to goal which would be in keeping with his current athletic profile. At this stage of his career, he will be more dependent on finishing the good work of others rather than creating and finishing his own brilliance.

If we play with high skill, Buddy will still kick plenty.

Please go to this video and watch from 40 seconds - Bud’s first goal against Adelaide.

The one on the weekend looked like he “toed” it a bit which means he didn’t quite get it on the laces and so it pulled up short.

I agree that it looks like he toed that shot. I was at the game last Saturday night and few, if any, long goals were scored by anyone in the game. It was a little slippery due to light rain and not a night for long bomb goals outside 50.

There is a chance that he still is tender from his injury which may impact on his kicking but we don't have enough evidence to say either way as yet. I'm looking forward to seeing the great man live this coming Saturday. We have a great crew coming up from Melbourne to watch the game.

As a football fan I’m very much looking forward to the Darcy Moore V Franklin battle. I think it’s a generational battle for the ages.

You have the greatest AFL athlete of all time (Franklin) v the best current athlete in the AFL (Darcy Moore). Franklin is 34 and probably (I have no data) past his athletic best. Moore is at the peak of his athletic powers. Moore is tall agile, fast, balanced, strong, great leap and an awesome ability to read the ball coming into the backline.

If Franklin is to win this battle he will have to win through experience, football smarts, patience and keeping Moore out of the play. It may be the game where Franklin for the 1st time moves his opponent out of the way for Heeney, Haywood, McLean and McDonald to take some marks.

I think this could be the match up of the year.

                  I love AFL football.

I've read this thread and can't see a post that could have prompted these Buddy supportive statements. Non sequitur time?

I'll be very surprised if they place Moore (or at least start) on Bud. If you are Collingwood, you want him roaming rather than locking down Bud. I suspect we'll see someone else line up on Buddy, with Moore given the job on someone like McLean or Sinclair (if he plays) and they'll back him to use his smarts and athleticism to mark and rebound.
'Delicious' is a fun word to say

I agree, Moore on Bud doesn’t play to Moore’s strengths, in the air and on the rebound. Would be a win for us if Moore plays on Bud, would give our other forwards a better chance in the air
