In normal times, this would not be worth commenting on, but I recently heard something interesting on a science podcast that makes your remark less obvious than you might think.
In a recent experiment, oxygen was pumped into the abdomens of human subjects through the rectum to support the hypothesis that people might one day be able to stay under water, without diving equipment, for up to an hour. This procedure has been tested on pigs, who did not require pulmonary respiration for more than an hour if infused with oxygen in such manner every 20 minutes.
I thought the Swans might get out in front of the science with this before the AFL catches on. It could dramatically increase the aerobic capacity of our players.
In any case, it was too good a porcine interest story to pass on'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Cheers for the welcome. If we all agreed on everything it would be a boring old place.
Number 14 ................ first saw it on the back of the greatest Swan I ever saw , the greatest Swan ever according to those that saw more of his career than I did. I wore the number myself through the whole of my playing days for a team playing in red and white also known as the Swans although I must say my Swans were far more successful back in the day than the South Melbourne/Sydney version. I played as a ruckrover as it used to be termed and watch that part of the game intently. I must say Mills and Warner excite me a lot but also I think a lot of people underestimate Rowbottom ,he has only played 40 games so far and gets overshadowed by the others at the moment. He will be a gem and really bloom after he gets out of the shadows when we move JPK on and have Parker play forward with cameo's in the guts. Those 3 -Mills ,Warner and Rowbottom will become a serious engine room ,Mills and Warner will be AA at some stage.Comment

You are right about Bob. Best Swan thats ever been. Soft spot for Kels taking us to the granny in 96 and i was there when Plugger got kicked his record goal with some @@@@@ wearing a Footscray scarf shoving me the whole time ! Wouldve had Bedford as favourite until he left for the baggers ! All is forgivenComment

Yeh, I admit I'm kinda shocked by that stat - for long passages, I didn't sight him. As you say, did seem to be playing through the midfield more, but I assumed that was because he was having no impact up forward. Tough to tell how it played out from the living room of course and my judgment was partly due to the very high standards we come to expect from him.Comment

Congratulations Number 14 on your first commentary. It's always a good move regurgitating some Ludwig wisdom for an introductory expository posting. Keep up the good work.
If you cut the alphabet soup player rating system, you might be on to something.Comment

Possessions can be overrated ! Yes very quiet game for Heeney . Still believe we are tracking better than anyone thought despite our burst out of the blocks.Comment

Just watched the last 2 minutes. Difficult to watch when you see Heeney all by himself about 35 meters from goal directly in front. But it was towards the end and Florent must have been exhausted and just did not look.Comment

Why is Blakey still playing?
That shepherd, instead of an easy tackle, in the last few minutes cost us the game.
Oh, and not turning up in the third quarter.
Really disappointing.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Agree he is not a ruck, even if he can jump really high. (Imagine if we still had a third up in the ruck how handy he would be.)
Most likely he will never be a key forward.
His defensive side are limited and some may say nearly non existent. Probably because he is to light and misses tackles. This is likely as he does not tackle)
Skills and kicking limit him playing in Full forward line (full time)
Therefore he is an attacking winger, pinch in the middle or an attacking player in the HFF. Play him in those location or drop him.
IMO
