Might as well be called cheating …an umpire like who has such an effect on a game because of his ego like he in the Hawthorn has the same effect on the result and it’s totally beyond mere mistakes
And Bangalore if you hate criticising umpires to be totally consistent why not just fully accept team selections also and then I don’t know what else you’d write aboutComment

I've been thinking of getting a dog and naming it Chaddddddd.
Fetch the ball Chadddddddd.
Kick the ball Chaddddddddd.
You can tackle me Chadddddddddd, but not so rough.
I'll train that dog well. By the end of the year I should be ready to take over as the Swans new development coach.
I'm finding it hard to focus on the WC game.Comment

Changes v West Coast
“This is how unfair I want to be about this,” Brereton said.
“Hawthorn beat Sydney two weeks ago and I thought the umpires slaughtered Sydney. I thought they gave Hawthorn the absolute inside run. They played well … but they slaughtered Sydney with the whistle.”
- Thanks Dermott!
Members pay a fair bit to attend these games. Then it’s $12 for a beer. As a paying customer, I’d like to see more accountability for the fairness of the process. (& better beer if you’re gonna charge that). I was disappointed that the only public comment about how poor the umpiring was in that game came from the former Hawk.Comment

Have a look at a replay of Rd 3 v Richmond is you want an example of where the umpiring clearly favoured us.Comment

Being perennially on the bottom of the 'season free kick differential' ladder.
Seeing other non-Vic teams clearly getting favourable home town umpiring while we get shafted at home.
Oh and I can remember a certain cup that should be in our cabinet that isn't.
The evidence is there for those that aren't on high on acquiescence.
Cheating or not, it's a pattern that is real and cannot be ignored. Integrity is everything in sport.....and it's not enhanced by apathy.Comment

There is a thread on BF about umpiring stats in finals. The numbers speak for themselves. It is a REAL issue, it is frustrating as hell and it's an unprofessional aspect of a huge professional 'product'. I'm a main instigator in the game day thread. I won't vent about umpires in the gameday any more because others are finding it annoying. Would be great if people (or is it person) could stop death riding certain players. It's equally as tiresome for others. I note RB isn't playing this week so should be straightforward. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

So one game or even the occasional game that might go in our favour cancels out the 'frankly I've lost count of' games we have been completely shafted in, a lot that may have lead to unfair losses for us?

It’s funny I can’t remember those games quite as well ????????

And a better example would be week 4 vs Essendon. They were shafted in that game. We blew the tigers away early and I can’t recall the umpiring being the reason.
In any case, I don’t like the C word. I just mentioned an article about umpiring being broken at the moment. It is. And i understand the frustration it causes.
The umpires don’t have a easy job on the field. Then there’s constant rule tweaks and week-to-week changes in how to interpret the rules. The player on the mark rule has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous this year and will be scrapped.
That said, we can’t expect a game forum to not mention the umpiring. It’s simply part of the show. The best games are the ones where you don’t even notice the umpires, but that’s a rare event.Comment

Today's game is shaping up as the defining moment for either our season or the weagles. Whoever loses is only one win ahead of an increasingly large pack of chasers. Whoever wins breaks free and buys themselves a little breathing space.
I'm worried that all other teams in the competition see us as beatable. The blue print is:
a) Bring pressure around the ball
b) Block up the corridor on our rebound, forcing us to go down the line
c) Win enough ball to create F50 pressure where our undersized backline will buckle under the pressure, either giving away easy mark or soft free kick. We seem to give away at least 3-4 easy goals every match.
d) Nullify Buddy's influence.

If we can win around the contest, stops most the other stuff from happening. Over to you Mills, JPK, Parker, Hickey!Comment
