I think JPK stopped attending centre bounces and it was Mills, Parker and JMac
I noticed that, but I think Kennedy may have been on the bench. Really not sure. But we looked better with Jmac on ball. We simply have to find a way to stop the opposition from blowing by us at centre bounces.
Another thriller on the way by the looks of it. They take it out so easily when they win the centre clearances - nullify that and we can grind our way to a win.
Come on boys - massive quarter coming up in the context of our season.
If we could fix centre clearances, we genuinely could win the whole thing with our pressure and forward set up.

Dare I say it, we probably need one slightly more defensively minded player in there more often at times. George perhaps?
We certainly need to find a way to stop the momentum other teams at times can generate from centre bounces. The fake fairypuppy today showed us the fate we may have in finals aginast the real fairypuppies if we don't get closer to breaking even.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
I’m not sure who Marty is, but yes it is true. Our last win against Essendon at the MCG was in 1923.
It is indeed true! But we didn't play them at the G for around 75 years didn't we in the middle?
On another positive note, just how lovely was some of our field kicking today. From a team a few years back struggling to hit a barn door 4 foot away, our skills are great to watch in that regard now. Although sometimes we do bite off more than we can chew. But so much to like about our development in that aspect.

I couldn't watch the game in the end. Left work during the first quarter, put the car radio on and Essendon scored two goals on the way home. Got changed and turned on the TV and they got another! Started distracting myself with some Olympics for awhile, checked the footy again and lo and behold, another Bombers goal....back to the Olympics. Another check a bit later.....same result! One more check and Stringer's playing on and banging another through. I had not witnessed one Swans goal. Bugger this I declared, I'm not watching anymore, I'm a jinx! Tuned in again with 17 seconds left and us up by the final margin. Phew! Sounds like it was a great win after a frustrating tussle. Only percentage away from the top 4.....go Giants against Port.
Our boys are showing a lot of attributes that can take you a long way in finals.....and now that we're definitely in, this season is getting very exciting. Go Swans!

I kinda saw it a little differently and have for a bit.
I think you can play two of Mills, Parker, JPK and Hewett at most centre bounces. You then need a more dynamic type - a JMac, Chad if/when he comes back in, JB at full fitness etc. Its actually a shame Florent hasn’t shown more aptitude in the centre square.
It gives us a better mix and ensures we’re not too static.
In a year of goal kicking inaccuracy, this game was incredible from both sides. No one could miss.
Good effort all around. Dawson, JMac, Blakey and Mills were super.
The only negative for me was Bell, who had another invisible game. Surely we can get more from someone else.
It's a worry how we didn't try anything to shut down Merrett and Parish. I hate to say it, but Kennedy shouldn't be at the centre bounces. He simply cannot defend when the opposition get the ball. I would play Kennedy at forward.
I completely agree with this brief summary.
I don't think he had his best game today but I still believe that JPK adds a lot to the team in general play (as evidenced by his 16 contested possessions last week). However, I think his time has come to start at half forward during centre bounces.
Be careful pointing out Bell as one of our worst. For some reason, others will point out one or two plays where he contributed. 4 disposals and 1 tackle just doesn't cut it even when his effort can't be questioned.

That's our problem, too defensive. We need players who go for the footy rather than trying to block and hold. We got 3 frees against at centre bounces for holding in the last quarter.
