Great win by our lads but gave the heart/ blood pressure a tweak or two!
Thought Razor graves us a decent run but the other two gave some strange decisions. Stringers’ 3 frees in the last? I’ll watch the replay to see what I must have missed.
Credit to the injectors for a top game- their midfield was superb. I want to savour the win and save my thoughts for another post tomorrow.Comment

Haven't seen the game yet but I've opened a top McLaren Shiraz to enjoy when I sit down to view it shortly.
Had a quick squiz at the stats, Jmac 6 clearances caught my eye, he really is a surprise packet this year.
The Injectors just edge out the Hawks as my favourite team to beat, pity scores are always so tight.
Off to view it now, wine glass and nibbles in hand :-)Comment

Reid gave a lot more today than Amartey has. If he stays fit he will be a big asset from now on.Comment

All good, but personally, I think you missed the play of the day. Which was when Hewett handballed to McInerney on the defensive side of the square, and seeing an opportunity, Blakey took off from inside the 50. He got up to top pace to receive the handball from McInerney and then burnt off McDonald-Tipungwuti. Still at top pace, he hit a long kick to Papley; who crumbed his own spilt mark and slotted a running shot from deep in the pocket. Rebound footy at its finest.

And Jakey. The two lead commentators were ok though, I thought.Comment

Great game again. Pleasure to watch!
Jordan Dawson is a STAR!! Blakey has been reborn, McCartin is sensational and Goulden just keeps impressing.
Only concern are the centre clearances. Would love to see Heeeny be given a proper run in there.Comment

I have to say reflecting back on this game - Jake Lloyd is one of the most reliable, consistent players I have ever seen. He gets in to situations where I think he is in trouble but still manages to dispose of it well most of the time.
Great (possibly underrated) player.Comment

Parker enhances his reputation every game . Bends down and says climb on my shoulders boys i'll take you . That 3rd quarter by him was something else . Just sets the standard every week
Jmac is a star already , goes inside mid and has an elite game . Just an incredible pickup. I was thinking him and Chad could be an inside/outside duo , now im thinking i wanna see them together on the inside. Skill speed and smarts , they both have all 3. Picks 39 and 44 , just blows my mind
We are the most watchable team in the comp . Jmac Blakey Gulden Heeney Mills Papley Dawson , those guys are so suited to how we are playing . We have thrown out the old way and changed it up around these boys . Fantastic to see . Chad still to come back , Campbell for next year , so exciting . Giving this grumpy old man something to smile about in lockdownComment

Where is that team we used to watch, the one that ran with the ball, delivered it to a well placed colleague, was ready when the ball came to them and when they didn't have the ball took it off the other side? It's the other lot doing these things.
And what is the matter with Rampe?

Got to say that Mills last qtr was doing some amazing gut running to make space and options for us to keep possession.
I remember watching Mills and Heeney when they were playing for NSW and Mills just dominated that game in the midfield.
He has been unleashed this season and we are making it work with Hewett, Mills, Kennedy and Parker rotating thru which I didn't think these 4 combined would have the exit speed from contests.
We are rotating Parker nicely thru the forwards aswell as Hewett thru the backline also so far it appears to be working
Matchups I do think those 4 will align better against Geelong and Brisbane come finals but I do worry against a full strength Melb and Port re contest exist speed match ups."be tough, only when it gets tough"

J-Mac into the centre square is the big chess piece move of the upcoming Swans Dynasty. I always pictured J-Mac as a wingman or half back. Now that he can be adapted to the centre square as well, you can find future half back or wing positions for Campbell and Stephens.
I know this a big call but I think the current and future Swans team will change the AFL forever. No longer will teams be able to win with a defensive zone and contested football. Clarko’s cluster or other forward pressure games can’t beat the Swans speed and ball movement. You can’t defend the entire width of the field, the corridor or someone running at you like Blakey at the same time.
Other teams will start adapting their play to the Swans style of play. It’s a copy cat league.
The way to beat the Swans team of 2022-2025 will be to counter attack them off half back at break neck speed and win shoot out games.
It’s a welcome change to the defensive AFL game plans of the last 20 years.Comment
