    I don’t think it’s a bad venue. It’s the Olympic stadium.

I just think that people from the North Shore and Eastern Suburbs hate having to travel to Homebush and many can be quite snobby about going there. Most people from the North Shore or Eastern suburbs would never go to an area like Homebush unless for a work or a professional purpose.

They want their sports viewing to remain in the beautiful Moore Park precinct. The after match social opportunits at nearby Paddington, Oxford Street, Coogee, Bondi Beach, Clovelly and the CBD are way superior to the after match social opportunities at Homebush.

I personally like Homebush. My son supports the Sydney Thunder Franchise and we enjoy catching the train to Spotless.

Our playing style has changed and Kennedy no longer fits the new style. We also need the spot for developing players. Even if Kennedy could contribute more than Stephens right now, for example, I would rather play Stephens to keep his development on track.

On another point, I thought Sheldrick has a similar kind of game, atm, as Wicks, and we might consider keeping Sheldrick in the team and drop Wicks to make room for Warner.
      What a great post.

I think the Kennedy half back debate is going to be the major talking point of 2022.

I personally think you play him in the midfield or not at all.

When Papley comes back, he’ll play most centre square ball ups before drifting forward. This will mean even less midfield opportunity.

I agree with Ludwig that the Swans new attacking style favours guys that are elite kicks, are quick and have the engine to constantly run all day. J-Mac, Florent, Blakey, Campbell Stephens and Chad suit this style.

It’s not Kennedy’s style. A kick down the line game with plenty of stoppages is Kennedy’s style.

I used to live on the North Shore and I don't think we are too snobby to travel to Homebush.

BTW, can you give me the GPS coordinates for Homebush so I can find it on the map?

Interesting theory. At a game where previous posts have stated that the crowd was around 75% Swans, you seem to think that a crowd of 25,000 at a Giants home game, was the fault of snobby people in the east and north of Sydney. It suggests a certain amount of inate prejudice against Swans fans, don't you think? I mean, why not blame Giants fans, when they were vastly outnumbered at Homebush? Not sure how well your theory will go down, on a site for Swans fans?

Great to see that across all games played so far James Rowbottom currently ranks 3rd in the league for pressure acts with 31. This is so important for our defence. Next best in our game was Coniglio with 26 and Parker with 24. Good to see Wicks in the top 5. If only he could kick it between the big sticks.

Accepted. The use of the word snobby was off the mark.

Apologies to you, Ludwig and other people I offended.

Your point is very true that more Giants supports should have turned up, particularly with a player like Tom Green. He’s a jet.

I do think that two facts are true:

                    1) Many Swans supporters went along to Homebush for the Buddy 1000 campaign. The chance to run onto the ground in celebration and not get tackled, fined or banned for life was a key driver in getting a lot of people going there on Saturday.

                    2) I think the overriding majority of Swans supporters prefer the SCG to Homebush. Swans supports have turned up to Homebush over the years in great numbers but nearly all don’t like the travel aspect to Homebush and many prefer the post Swans game social opportunities of Moore Park.

I just don't think the Giants have much support. When we play them at the SCG, I am always surprised at how few GWS supporters seem to be there. It seems to be similar at this venue, which is very close to their home ground anyway.

I also think that crowds in Sydney in general tend to build up as the season goes on. Perhaps this reflects Sydney's climate where many outdoor activities are available well into the middle of the year,

I agree with the premise that GWS don't have much support. The idea that they represent the people of Western Sydney is a myth. The GWS boys play for the club and each other, not for their supposed fans. The AFL couldn't care less as their club really only exists to add value to the TV rights, not to expand the game in Western Sydney or Western NSW.

Some great tackling by Rowbottom. On the downside we need to question if Kennedy and Franklin have still got what it takes to compete at AFL level. Also its the worse game I have seen Mcdonald play.

Watching the game on replay after watching it live. Gulden's tackling in the second half is outstanding.

                              Exactly.

Also worth noting that I doubt there will be more than two (if any) regular season rugby league games with a larger crowd.
