Love a bit of spontaneity, don't you?Why didn’t the fan put the ball in his bag and take the ball down to the Swans dug out. He could have walked across the ground and informed security that he had Buddy’s ball and wound like to give it to a recognised club official so that it could be passed onto Buddy.
A recognised club official would have come up, thanked the gentlemen and given it to Buddy after the game.Comment

Andrew Webster from the SMH has called out the Swans fan for not giving the ball to a security guard or a club official straight away. Said that some at the Swans were bemused that the press conference became about the fan.
Love it when a prominent scribe backs me up.Comment

I tend to agree with that viewpoint especially when it was mentioned on one of Fox Footy shows that he had initially suggested a figure of 100k on the Saturday for the return of the ball.Andrew Webster from the SMH has called out the Swans fan for not giving the ball to a security guard or a club official straight away. I felt Lances body language during the handover suggested that maybe he wasn’t that impressed with having to be part of the sideshow.Comment
