Great to run out onto the ground with my son. What a moment. I’m standing with my son and Sam Wicks just walks past like he’s just another person amongst how many people were on the ground.
I saw on the TV that Tom Stewart from Geelong had an incident with a pitch invader. Does anyone have any info on that?
Lance Franklin is a credit to the game and keeps producing.
Very good performance.
I want to apologise to TheBloods. Kennedy was very good. That pass to Hayward for the 1st goal was great.
Chad added a new gear to the midfield. Loved his handball to Heeney for a goal and his pass to Franklin for the 1,000.
Blakey, Rampe, The McCartin’s and Campbell good in defence.
Heeney looks in great touch. If he stays injury free he’ll clock over 50 goals for the year to go with the midfield excellence.
Mills was superb on Danger.
The style of football is so good to watch. Through the corridor at speed. Really great to watch.
Two unfortunate players next week of Papley and J-Mac are ready.
and I think it may have been Zach Touhy rather than Tom Stewart, but I stand to be corrected. He collected a spectator in the invasion (inadvertently) then realised they'd lost their wallet and returned it to them!My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

Brilliant experience with your son. Treasure that. Through the other end of the telescope, I got to see the 2005 flag live with my father, who had lived his entire life without seeing a flag at that point. A glorious moment. In the fabric of your life, these things are not everything but they are enduring and very important memories.

I strongly believe they should have called full time at that point. It was risky to both teams of players to warm up and come back on after 30min to play 15min of time where the result was secured.
Could Geelong have talked to the Swans and agreed to end of the game? Do clubs have that power.Comment

Best night i have had in a long long while. It is getting on 2 years since my wife passed , felt nice to be back at the SCG surrounded by swans fans . We are the best in the country bar none , and ive seen most of them !
Chad was far and away our best player . I do not deserve any credit for rating him , but i did say he 'd fast become our best mid when it wasnt popular to say so . Mills also great of course but cant break a game open like Chad . Florent was disappointing after last week , seemed off .
Heeney and Lance are stars , cant stop them when they are in that kind of mood .
Hayward kicked 3 and he is lucky he did because everything else he did was shocking ! Anyone on here who thinks i am too hard should 've heard the chap behind me ! Needed a swear jar every time Hayward went near it .
No surprise the two worst players in the side were our worst players on the ground . I have been clear who they are and if everyones being honest they will also know it .They will be gone next week , Kennedy going nowhere
Paddy awesome , Tom not so much but grew into the game . I 'd also like to give a mention to Braden campbell who i thought was a star . Had so many fantastic defensive moments you dont see on TV , to go with his left foot cannon . He is superb
Blakey and Errol also .Comment

Not being at the game, as I live in Melbourne, would love to know your other worst player- does it start with a W by any chance?Comment

So, as a TV watcher from afar, keen to get observations from those at the ground on Stephens. Looked very poised, polished and involved, covering a bucket of ground and his kicking looked precision. Didn’t bust the game open like Chad, but that’ll come. Probably his best game so far for mine at least.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

So Happy Buddy go to kick his 1000th at SCG. Has synergy with Plugger's 1000th & goal kicking record, both also at the SCG. Futher enshrines SCG with great footy history/moments.
P.S. Tried to post this in the "Buddy 1000th" thread but for some reason it wouldn't allow me to do so.Comment

Stephens seemed pretty composed last night and got himself into some good positions I noticed he got burnt a few times early when he was in the clear but didn’t drop his head and kept working.
Mills ate Dangerfield alive last night. Danger had one touch in the first quarter and his second touch was when Mills moved off him briefly. Total demolition job that put Mills close to BOG - although it’s hard to go past Heeney, who will deliver a flag this year if he stays fit IMO.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

The awesome part more broadly is there is still so much improvement to come in this team - far, far from the ceiling it can reach.
Assuming we don't get wet toasted by Covid, looking forward to the game against the chuckers on Thursday night. Seriously think it's a huge opportunity to lay down a massive marker for the season, to put an exclamation mark on a very good opening fortnight.

And please drop the absolutes like "I have been clear who they are". You do not hold objective truth and your opinion is no more or less valid then the views of anyone else, so don't pretend to present it as fact.Last edited by mcs; 26 March 2022, 09:41 AM."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Cheers TB- after such a special night I’m not going to pick on you! Sorry to hear about your wife- hope our team can give you some solace and I won’t take to heart your comments on you know who in the future!

Yes the other worst player started with a W .
W for WoefulComment

Re: Covid. I read somewhere that 80% of east coast players had already contracted Covid mitigating the risk for teams over here. In contrast, WA teams are in 2020 still regarding their infections and so will be at a much greater risk. Me thinks Bud will get a rest this week anyway after a pretty big hangover.Comment
