Thanks, I was confusing my commentatatory twits.

Does anyone notice that Rowbottom plays better when BT is calling the game for TV. He was really good last week against Geelong when BT was calling. He wasn’t good last night when BT wasn’t calling.

I remember last year Rowbottom was good in that tight game against Geelong when BT had the call. Maybe the prospect of some Wow Wees and some Boy oh Boys from uncle Brian gets him inspired.

He should definitely be selected for the Friday night and Sunday afternoon games that BT calls.
BT was calling the game on Triple M along with Luke Darcy. It was excruciating to listen to. Started off Bulldogs Bulldogs Bulldogs. Then spent 10 minutes talking about cardboard...yes I repeat cardboard. Then the rest of the game kept bringing up that their rival station 3AW wasn't there calling the game and stating childish topics that the station was talking about instead of calling the footy.

Fox Footy needs a total cleanout of its commentary team imho.

        Quality has got worse.

The Mongrel Punt’s piece about last nights disaster also suggested that the two sides were being umpired differently and have been since you know when.

Western Bulldogs v Sydney - The Big Questions - The Mongrel Punt

I don’t think there’s any dispute about that here on RWO, we are demonstrably being shafted by the umpires and it does need to stop.

If the Dogs had kicked straight then they would have thrashed us as we were clearly outplayed and outcoached regardless of the umpiring.

But they didn’t kick straight so I can see it’s arguable that the umpires won the game for them.

I really hope that the widespread discussion about umpiring will lead to us getting fairer treatment and then the discussion can move back to football.

Not a lot of positives out of last night although I felt good about the contributions of Blakey, Hayward, Tom McCartin, Amartey, Gulden.

Wicks deserves to be dropped if he isn’t rubbed out for that act of complete stupidity.

Five Double Crow here in Adelaide would take the title of Australia's worst sporting commentary team.

That tosser Stephen Rowe sounds like he's undergoing a second puberty anytime the Fruit Loops go near or score a goal.

that’s a good review - I agree with their summary of Oli too. I still feel he’s our barometer.

192-130 free kicks since 2016. I’m still cranky about the Kennedy htb followed by Ugle Hagan being “held without” when he dropped it in the tackle moments later.

                It’s a good piece.

The argument on the umpires vs goal kicking piece is one is unreasonable and beyond our player’s control, the other is a skill execution failure by the opposition. The first is our problem unfairly, the second is exclusively theirs.

Sam Wicks charged with striking Keith and he can accept a $2000 sanction. No other charges for the game!

It was Seven's C list team - listening to Fox with Hudson, Russell, Dunstall and Pavlich do the Showdown tonight is like listening to a different sport. Good lord, I even enjoyed listening to Richo and BT do Dons/Dees tonight - last night's effort made even that mob of clowns sound like pros.

BT is a terrible, terrible caller.

Why didn't you turn over to SEN or ABC?

I've been a bit disappointed in Ollie the last couple of games. He was so good v GWS - for me I was marking that down as his break out game. But the last couple of games have been quite insipid. He has the talent and now he has the mature body and experience to go with it. Need him to bring his A game most weeks for our team to move to the next level.

The defence was set for Rowbottoms air bombs as you call it. If he had given Blakey the handball the defence would have been caught out of position, Blakey had enough space to beat the man one on one for a potential shot and the ball would have been in the hands of a great kick.

Good things happen when Blakey has the ball in his hands, why didn’t Rowbottom trust him?
There were so many dumb decisions all night, Bangalore. Harsh to pick on this one alone. No need for you to back TB- he does quite well on his own! The team as a whole was poor, though the Lizard was a standout. The pups flooded very effectively and our lack of experience prevented us countering- a difficult task to perform, though easy to talk about.

Agreed Ralph, but he had a lot of mates! Still, we need more consistency from Ollie- he has the talent, so i don’t know why he goes missing in games. Very frustrating and hope our coaches can help but he really needs to look at himself in the mirror.

I’m going to start on young Wicks, following in TB’s footsteps on JR.
I can’t see any talent there- he kicked a nice goal but he misses many. Runs around, mainly where the ball isn’t. People say he applies forward pressure and thus gives other forwards opportunities. Didn’t see any of this in our first 3 games and certainly was well and truly missing against the Fairypups. And his silly moustache is so annoying. Will never make it here- lets send him to the Suns!
