They're issuing a follow-up this year. Calling it "Chasing Mediocrity"

Port fans digging deep into ultra realism.

I'm particularly looking forward to the final part of "The Port Trilogy" next year. Apparently it's going to be called "Chasing.... Always
Chasing", and will come in a slipcase made from the recycled tarps that used to cover most of the seats at Football Park during the
clubs halycon days there. Available at good bookstores everywhere.

Last night was painful to watch in large parts, but Melbourne's defensive pressure was phenomenal. Seems like they always have someone in position to harry the opponent with the ball, always reaching out for a spoil or a steal. Just no space at all.

Fortunate for Port that no team can maintain that for an entire 4 quarters, or they could have been looking at a goalless game.

I'm hoping tonight will be more competitive, with Cats/Lions both coming off good wins.

And do you think they'll be able to achieve mediocrity?

Reasonable quality game between the Gericatrics and the Lions. Never much in it but a couple of contentious umpiring decisions in the last 5 minutes seemed to go the home sides way and they get up by 10 points. ????

Maybe they'll just have to satisfy themselves with the #1 draft pick. They can put his photo on the next brochure:

When Hawkins is behind he always pushes in the back and gets away with it (twice towards the end of the game). Dangerfield takes on a player, gets caught red hot, drops the pill, play on.

By the way umpire Meredith made a right goose of himself.

The number of times the Lions missed the tackle in the fourth quarter or the Geelong player were able to get their arms free tells me that the Lions may not be able to win the comp.
They needed to nail those tackles and they missed so many.

Yes if it was him who was explaining why Hawkins got the free then he better go to spec savers!
If anyone who believes umpire decisions don’t have a great impact on games thought the umpiring in the last 3 or 4 minutes of that game didn’t affect the result then I suspect nothing will.
In regard to the tackling yes Gericatrics players got free of some tackles but a few times they were given an inordinate amount of time to dispose of it.

Looks like Collingwood's resurgence just hit a brick wall. Beaten at Marvel by a patched up West Coast.

And Collingwood now out of the 8. Excellent news.

And what is the deal with Freo's jumper?

Tigers taking it to the Fairypups.....18 pts up half way through the second.

                                Frees 10-6 in F/Pups favour.
