60 free kicks what a way to ruin the flow of the game and to frustrate and confuse players and spectators.

Ahh here we go. I can see the headlines now, Tigers were robbed. Swans are awful, deserved to lose. Blah blah blah.

And despite stupendously stupid umpiring, what a game of footy!

Bizarre end to the game but the most common sense shown all night by the umps for mine.

We'll have the full Melbourne media controversy, after Chad kicked the ball away after the siren. But that ignores the fact that it seemed like the free was paid against Rowbottom, when it appeared there was absolutely no free there.

            Got lucky there.
Great final quarter. Chad played better defensively in that last half in addition to his always good offensive game.
Rowbottom the usual nagging self. Put himself everywhere.
Our first half was rubbish and we changed our tactics quite substantially in the second half. So great adaptation by the group and we played the contested game. Great application

The umpires made a decision on the Warner kick. Richmond disputed it so it should have been reversed!

If someone can explain that entire game to me I would appreciate it

Soft as soft free kick like many tonight.

Siren went basically at same point as the whistle. Ridiculous over reaction to give a 50 in that situation even if technically it was there.

Would they ever give a 50 in a grand final in that situation. Not in a billion years.

But all we will hear all week is how the poor wee liddle tiggies were robbed.

And a good point by Daisy, who said that the idea of a 50 is to penalise time wasting and you can't really waste time, when the siren has already sounded

Reid's contested effort was huge, and Ladhams excellent. Warner, what a ripper. Matty R not ready yet. Sheather and Stephens in for Wicks and Matty R next week.

I wish she would get to talk a lot more so we could hear a lot less from BT and Brayshaw. So much better and insightful with her commentary.

Yes, it did seem like dissent to me.

Thank god for a bit of common sense by the umpires at the end, didn't think they had it in them. Imagine if they'd given a 50 for that? Would have been a way bigger scandal.

On another note, other teams seem to have these forwards who aren't as big as normal forwards. Let's call them "small forwards". They're really fast and get heaps of goals. Can we get one?

But why did we give away the holding free kick when it was 70 meters out on the boundary with only seconds left? Great win by us, but we gave away some stupid free kicks.
