Such an excellent all round performance, where we won every stat except for, you guessed it, free kicks. And I doubt if any Bulldogs player actually won their position.

Many contenders for our best, as well. Reid who was forced into the number one ruck role and probably beat English. Papley, who probably would have been clear BOG, if he was kicking straight, but still had a heap of contested possessions and score involvements. Mills, who topped the side for tackles, pressure acts and distance run. Paddy McCartin, who for long periods seemed impassable: especially in the third.

And there were a number of other players who made big contributions. Warner, who gained a huge amount of ground in the first half. Blakey, who I just love to watch burst out of defence. Rowbottom, who monstered the Bulldogs mids in the first quarter, but may have been playing a bit injured after that, as a result of his desperate goal saving bump. Amartey, who had a couple of huge grabs early, then acquitted himself in the ruck. Heeney, who seems to be back to his deadeye best.

I could keep going, but a great win, made the more satisfying, by the thought that we've now made it much harder for the Bulldogs to make the finals.

I think there is enough love for the Chad. You may be unique with your views on one of our young players but not the Chad. I’ve liked him ever since he was drafted and was told to settle down in training. I know many others on here have too.

Did Mills run with Macrae in the second half or was it just a team effort? I was at the game and didn’t notice. Macrae only had 7 disposals in the 2nd half I think.

Loved the shots in the rooms after the game with Corey Warner in the background and what looked like younger Warners wearing Swans jumpers with number 1 on the back.

Looked like it , spent more time on thr wing with Macrae . Mills tackled all night , left the ball winning to Chad and Parker . Makes sense , they are more damaging . Still got 23 which is a neat effort

Excellent effort by the whole team last night.

I went to the game on a very cold night in Sydney worried about what team will be playing - the one that played the Bombers last week or the one that beat the Demons and Tigers. You could tell in the first 5 minutes what team turned up and it was great to watch. The only downer was our goal kicking. But to play that style of football in the 1st Qtr - all praise to the players and coaches. I am sure there would have been a lot of sole searching and stern words said through the week.

After Ladhams went off injured I thought Sam Reid played one of the best games I have seen in years. He was great. I was also very pleased to see that Clarke did a great job on Dale and kept him to very low possessions.

It was interesting that on Fox footy coverage after the game they said the Swans pressure rating was the highest ever..

Keep it up and we will give the other top 7 teams a scare.

Aren’t we glad we resigned Sam Reid?

Tbh I thought he was done and his performances last year were of a man bereft of confidence. Two BOG performances since he’s come back into the team.

Solid team effort last night. Apart from their miracle umpiring in the 2nd the dogs were never in it.

I enjoyed the physicality of Reid and Amartey around the contest, I thought it set our game up nicely.

We’d love the whole team to be the upbeat Mongrel that Chad is every game he plays , that beautiful consistency.
                We will get there.

Didn't watch the channel 7 coverage (watched Kayo) but did they do a 'Roaming Brian' last night in the Swans rooms after the win like most Friday nights?

And I'll bite (sorry 707), but Rowbottom's hardness in the first quarter played a big part in us dominating! He copped a nasty corkie when he saved the goal late in the first which no doubt would have affected him the rest of the night, however he still was solid and applied great pressure! You need to lay off him pal as you are starting to look a little silly (and I usually do agree with a lot of your comments).

Watched it this morning - he was in the rooms and did some interviews along with Jude, but did not do any roving stuff.

Maybe I should up my praise and start comparing Chad to GAJ.

The last thing we want is for Chad becoming despondent for lack of praise.

I wonder where and when last week’s doomsayers will appear on the thread this week?
Do we still sack Horse and half of the playing list after that effort?
With minimal changes from last week was the result tonight because of those minor team selection changes or simply a different mindset and game plan created and instilled into the playing group by the coaching staff ?
Mindset was the difference. We played with intent from the start

Sam Reid's best all round game in all his time at the Swans. Obviously he is fit and he is playing without injury. He was the difference maker last night with his experience, his leap in the ruck and bloody great contested ball, just what we needed against English, who killed us the last time. All credit and praise to Reid

Was as important in this as Clarke . Didnt think i would be saying Stephens and "disciplined " in the same sentence but thats exactly what he did , fantastic growth from the young lad despite your negativity
Nick Davis had plenty of positive things to say after the game about Stephens. I think Nick would have more of an insight into Stephen's role for the night than all of us. If Nick says it's good then I think that's a pretty reliable indicator he's beginning to track in the right direction
