McDonald wasn't that crash hot in the reserves today and Amartey whilst he didn't clank as many marks is at least contesting well and he'd be learning a lot from the run if games he's getting .he has a great role model in the way Reid is playing..how good has he been

Errol fantastic , wouldnt have minded him winning it , great recognition for a young fella . Chad so important in our ball movement , Blakey also . Jmac better today , some wanted him out . Paps brilliant , Heeney strong but can be better , needs to kick straighter . Mills is the heart and soul leader of this team .

Bud got beat By Taylor . Junktime goals dont count , still a star player but was beat today . Props to the young fella, he will be a star defender . We dont need him we have the MCCARTINS . Especially Paddy . What a pick up . I'm up and about after that - love beating those orange turds !
I think to a degree our weight of numbers and number of contributions forward cloud how poor the delivery to Buddy is. Whetheror not the kick shouldnt be made is one thing, but very few inside 50 he actually had out in front. Most were on his head, very easy to defend for an average defender, let alone one going at All Aussie pace

Errol is a better kick, though Hanners was one of the most fearless players I’ve seen on a footy field and his inside skills under appreciated.

Anyway, they both had preternatural footy talents well before their time.
Yes, I probably should have mentioned, that Tadhg did say that Hanners was one of the most ferocious players that he'd ever seen, when going hard for a contested ball.

What a wonderful win. I just watched the sublime Swans on replay and considered this to be a danger game. It was pleasing that after the first few minutes we controlled the rest of the match and didn't let up.

I thought Reid was colossal and is putting together his best year. We had match winners all over the ground. I'm becoming a fan of Clarke and think he's finally found his niche in the team. Gulden's ability to read the game, Florent, Stephens, The Chad, Parker, Heeney, Rowbottom ... all killed it.

Our defence was rock solid and I think Fox brings a lot. Blakey was incredible too and I get excited by Florent running off half back as much as the Lizard.

The weekend just got a little sweeter after that win.

I agree. Also provides emergency ruck assistance for hobbled Hickey. I want McDonald in and doing well, but I'd be a little surprised if they dropped Amartey.

Just a mention for Stephens. That's as poised as I've seen him and he kicked well. The run of games has done him the world of good.

Fantastic win today! Puts us in a situation to grab 2nd spot by season end if we win our last games with some more percentage gain (we are 5.1 points behind Melbourne), and Brisbane drop one game but beat Melbourne.

Great games particularly by Errol Gulden, Reid, Rowbottom and Parker.

You got to feel for Kennedy and Cunningham who lost their spots after injury. Then we have all these young players with great potential to come in next year, such as Campbell, Gus and Logan. What a great position to be in.

Only vulnerability it seems is whether Hickey can keep playing with his niggles while Ladhams is recovering with his thumb. Let's hopefully put North Melbourne away by 50+ points next week

Had the most marks on the ground. His previous two weeks have been good.

TheBloods and I have come to an arrangement whereby he won't be mentioning Rowbottom - good, bad or ugly - at least for the foreseeable future. So can I ask everyone else to stop goading him into making comment on James, or assuming that when he doesn't, he is criticising by omission. This way, TheBloods isn't coerced into making comments that he doesn't believe in but still has another 45 odd players on the list to talk about, and everyone else can talk about Rowbottom, however they see fit (within obvious reason).

I did make a request for people to stop baiting in last week's matchday thread, but now I'm being more explicit. Let's all enjoy RWO and cut the Rowbottom argy bargy out.

James was one of the best five players on the ground yesterday. Even Longmire singled him out as a top contributor.
There’s no doubt the Giants were up for the contest early, but it only lasted 15 minutes.

I think this was a sensible solution but also highlights the ridiculousness of it all.

Horse doesn’t smile much at press conferences but he did when asked about Rowie’s tackling. Same when talking about Gulden’s footy IQ.

Also confirmed Ladhams will be available next week, and was close to playing this week.
