Match thread: Swans v Giants.

TheBloods and I have come to an arrangement whereby he won't be mentioning Rowbottom - good, bad or ugly - at least for the foreseeable future. So can I ask everyone else to stop goading him into making comment on James, or assuming that when he doesn't, he is criticising by omission. This way, TheBloods isn't coerced into making comments that he doesn't believe in but still has another 45 odd players on the list to talk about, and everyone else can talk about Rowbottom, however they see fit (within obvious reason).
I did make a request for people to stop baiting in last week's matchday thread, but now I'm being more explicit. Let's all enjoy RWO and cut the Rowbottom argy bargy out.Comment

I’ve had TB on ignore for some time now, but pretty much always have a sneaky look at what is under the “1 ignored post” link anyway. It’s generally pretty good reading (apart from he who must not be named references).
I’m quickly being converted to another TB favourite in Dylan Stephens. The striking part about his guy for me is the way he glides across the grass with such fluidity. He almost floats across the top of the ground and covers the surface so smoothly and quickly and he now seems to be working his way into games more with each outing. Another really exciting talent to watch develop.Comment

There’s some cunning thinking.
We were on yesterday so all good, but boy GWS stank up the joint. The spray they got lost game didn’t surprise me. But him naming as many as eight players as having a go did. I could name four. (I’ll excuse Aleer as he was clearly overawed and picked before he was ready).
They really have pissed away the greatest hand ever given to a club in my time watching the AFL. If I was Clarko, I’d reckon North had a better future. GWS have no soul, they’ve blown the salary cap for five or six years, and are a financial sinkhole for the next 20 years.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

The Giants were just woeful yesterday - they are such an embarrassment, and I tend to agree with the previous few posts. They will cost the AFL a hell of a lot more money over the next few years and are at serious risk of undoing any miniscule amount of good work they've done to the AFL brand in Sydney to date.Comment

wearing $300 hoodies yelling out "Go Swaneeezzz" as they approach the SCG) and the "it's too cold, it might rain" contingent, and
we'd be lucky to get 15K to our games.Comment

Their skill level and confidence of the whole group has really headed north since the Bombers game.
Stunning winters day.
At the players gate (afterwards) our kids got photos with Heeney, Sam, Paps, Paddy and Millsy….
Kick to kick on dry ground .
It’s a cool family club.Comment

For the record on Paps goal. Runs at full speed ,takes the ball out of the hands of a Giants player then side steps two GWS player and kicks a goal on the outside of his boot. How many other AFL players would be capable of doing that? It wouldn't be recognized but for me its definitely goal of the year!
There is a lot of talk about our young generation and rightly so. But we're about to enjoy a window because Paps, Mills and Heeney are an elite brigade in their prime years.
We had the Buddy/JPK etc window. We'll have another window anchored by Chad, Gulden, Blakey, Logan etc.
But the one we have now is because we've got that core group (and I'd include Parker in it, and Paddy Mc's emergence) of players in their mid 20s providing a bridge between the old fellas and the young superstars. We're in a very fortunate position, and Paps is a truly special player.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

I would trade Taranto, Whitfield and Kelly - should get some bloody good draft picks and rebuild through the draft.
To me they need to reset the whole club onfield. Give Clarkson a 5 year deal and if I was him I'd want as many picks (and a good recruiter) to rebuild with.
The AFL won't give up on them too easily.Comment

I agree they have wasted their massive opportunities - BUT - If I was Clarkson I'd go to the Giants.

ambition. And you have to love the grind, because sometimes it will be a grind. Clarko, as long as wants to live in Sydney for a
number of years and is still motivated (he says he is) could be the guy to get that into their heads and make it stay there. We
shall see I guess.Comment
