Great photo on several Instagram accounts (I think taken in St K change rooms after the match) of Hanners with Alex Johnson, Jarrad McVeigh, Kieren Jack, Ben McGlynn and Josh Kennedy. Plus (on Kieren’s account) a photo of Dan and Kieren wearing their 2012 medals after the GF - and looking very young!

This what you want to see from a player with only a few minutes to go in a tight contest.
Turning into an absolute beast with a work ethic that can’t be coached.

I am calling it now this is a future captain or co captain for our club.

And while we are looking at positives from Sunday how good was this listen to what Jonathan Brown has to say about it. Rightly nominated for goal of the year it was a ripper.

Of the young ones, you could see any of Gulden, Rowie, Chad or McInerney easily growing into it. Errol in particular looks a special.
We'll see how they develop it, and whether they want it. It's a bit of an open secret Isaac was given an early taste of the leadership group, but didn't find it that appealing. Some blokes are happy to avoid the formal obligations that come with it, and exhibit leadership in other ways. Bud only took to it late in his career.
The timing of our next captaincy appointment may depend on Ramps next year, and I 'suspect' (but no more than guess), he will hand over, but his form has picked back up second half of the year, so who knows. If it is next year, I could easily see Paps getting a guernsey to give the other young uns an extra year or two to fully develop.
Either way, we're a lucky club.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

agree with that. I'll be waiting to see James in the "Treehugger" Tee. He's got a Treehugger hair going already.Comment

Was at the game and yes it was a great goal, showed good speed and balance. One thing I did notice about him, no left foot that can get him out of trouble. He is always trying to get back on the right or trying to kick with the outside of his right foot. St Kilda had identified this and were constantly corralling him on to his left. I think teams will now have a plan when they tag him. It is something he can develop over time. He will become even more effective once he can do this.spriteComment

I daresay someone has posted this before but it's worth another look: James Rowbottom CAREER HIGHLIGHTS (2019-2021) - YouTube.
His 2020 goal against the Tigers (at the Gabba) is every bit as good as that Chad goal against the Tigers in R3 2021.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Oh - and opponents must dread it when he gets his sights on them in a tackle. He really locks on.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment
