Saw my first episode of the new season last night and well I didnt think it possible but the show has got worse and even more irrelevant.

Watson as the panellist was bad but him as the host is ridiculous.

David Parkin is totally out of his depth and whats worse - you couldnt care less about what he has to say.

The only redeeming feature is Hutchy and he should be made the host. Sad to see how low the show has sunk.

They used to be on par with the Footy Show but now its like King Kong vs a chimpanzee.

For me, it has turned into the St.Kilda/Essendon show, which doesn't really surprise me considering Timmy is hosting.
Last week Sheedy was on, this week Thomas was on.

Also lots of Carlton talk with the drug stuff, but I suppose that is relevant.
They still don't seem to cover more than a few teams a week.
They probably think that showing the coaches votes for every team does that.
I wish Tim would stop saying what a 'great initiative' it is.

Also Hutchie sucks.
He is almost as bad as Eddie, and the way he blindly defended Eddies comments this week totally remover what credibility he had for me.

Wish I had cable.
Maybe then I would get some decent footy shows....

I watched it this season for the first time yesterday as well and agree it was pretty ordinary.

Never been a fan of Watson as a media person - narrow minded and boring. Parkin was OK and the other bloke just dull.

The Rex'n'Mal segment was just pathetic. No idea of what they were trying to achieve with that. And the other segment with some bloke ranting for five minutes was even worse. No idea who he was and couldn't care either.

Bring back Brooce is all I can say.

I just now watched the tape of this and have to agree with everyone. This is the usual "sexing up" of a successful format by some "cardigan" somewhere at Seven.

Everyone is in a sexy suit, the intimacy of the group around the coffee table has gone, and the indepth interviews have had the bathplug pulled out ... and the you can almost hear the water gurgling down the plughole. Rex and that THUG Mal Brown. I mean . . WHAT THE??

As for Pricey. Failed as a shock jock. Failing as a commentator. It's a fake version of Jonesy (the Parrot) doing his earnest looking-into-the-camera routine on nine's morning show. And we know what an exercise in artifice that was!!!

The dumbing down of good analysis. Makes the Eddie show look positivley high-brow in comparison.

Have not seen new one, because Watson is in the chair, but agree in principle with other comments. Bruce?s earnestness was sometimes too much, and Essendon seem to have dominated the show in the last couple of years , but his real ?love? of the whole footy scene carried it. Caroline gave us one to hate on the couch, but ol? B?woosey would certainly ask probing questions.

How Watson gets the TV gigs I do not know IMO a very moderate media performer, mind you hardly alone! The feedback on OTC via Melbourne sports radio has been very anti from callers, also the radio jocks, but of course it is so incestuous down here with Channel Eddie and his minions that you expect that.

Tim is ok IMO but it's the format of the show that's crap.
He is probably more suited to the sports segment on the news which isn't too demanding.

Woul dhave like to see someone else in the role, but I suppose we are pretty thin in that area surprisingly.
You'd think with all the ex players entering the media world there would be more talent out there....

Channels 7 and 10 seem to have swapped places and policies. We get good coverage of games on 10, we get drivel like Rex'n'Mal and Steve Price on 7.
Tim Watson presents fairly well but doesn't seem to get beyond platitudes in content. And without Caro the atmosphere is so blokey it's starting to sound like a boofheaded League show.
I'd like to see a knowledgeable woman, Tim back in his support role, and someone with more breadth and incision in the chair.
As for content: cut the drivel, a bit more on postmortems (I'd like to see Parkin do a segment on 'Where the Game Was Won' or some such) and a look forward to the next round, to balance the human interest stories and the inevitable politics.
