    Swans chat John Roberts photo?

Wondering if anyone can help me out. I’m trying to find decent (large/high res) photos of former Swan full forward John Roberts (1980-1982).

Not any of the following though (as I already have them):

    • 1981 or 1982 Scanlens football cards
    • 1981 or 1982 Ardmona football cards
    • the 2 pictures of him in Jim Main’s “In the Blood”

If you can help me, could I trouble you to pm me please?

    Cheer cheer

I'm pretty sure i recall one of the Melbourne newspapers having a photo of the speccy he took at the Lake Oval in his first season. I always had an interest in him as one of my mates was from Adelaide and was raving about him when he rrived at the Swans

Without meaning to divert this thread, i remember reading a story in the Melbourne Sun when Roberts took that speccy against St Kilda in 1980. In the old members stand that day to witness that mark was none other than Bob Pratt and Laurie Nash, who both nodded with approval taking them back to their glory days. Added significance Roberts was wearing Bob Pratt's No.10 to see that guersney soaring over the Lakeside Oval once again.

          This one?

It would be perfect if I could get a hi res scan of the original, but the online one is not quite the quality I require. Any help there would be appreciated! (A long shot I know)

Having not given a thought to John Roberts for many years, yesterday I was just thinking about that very speccy. Weird.

I was with my dad and brother on the wing, in front of the bowling green.

All I could find of that John Roberts mark at the Lakeside Oval against St Killda in 1980 was in this YouTube video at the 34 sec mark:

Other YouTube videos of John Roberts highlights:

I did come across this Adelaide Avertisier interview article from 2013 on the day John Roberts kicked 16 in a 1977 SANFL match. No photos unfortunately:
