I haven't posted for a while for a number of personal reasons. But I was there yesterday with my 15 year old daughter, back from her school in Victoria for a break.
What an event. Felt much more like a GF final atmosphere than any game I've been to at the SCG—even more intense than the 2005 Semi against Geelong—simply because of the mass of Collingwood supporters there. The great blocks of opposing fans was startling, and the competing chants before the bounce were astounding. I think that the tension of that final quarter was greater than the same quarter against Geelong: being hunted is worse than doing the hunting.

Now, I've posted this on the GF thread, but will repeat it here: I've registered for a ticket in the ballot, and as a premier club member, it is guaranteed. However, since registering, circumstances have conspired against me, and I won't be able to get to Melbourne. If you need a ticket, message me.

Only have to appeal the length. Get it down from 3 to 2 weeks

When we go long down the line, we didnt go wide enough, thise 50m kicks should be landed 3m from the boundary not the square, we did that all game.

Gees I hope Reid gets up, was and is huge.

Never played the Cats at the G, thats an interesting variable.

Hopefully our boys are better for the run, got plenty if toom to work with next week.

The ending was hard to watch but its easy to forget we put 70+ points on the Pies in a half that could have easily been 90 pts.
Agree. We could easily have been 50 points up at half time - we missed some easy ones and they were 6.0 at one stage. If that had been the case, they don't get close.

Thanks to Deja for starting this thread. I was a bundle of nerves before the game and all the way through it and so have only now just managed to get back onto this site.

For me, not much to analyse out of this game because it was just nuts. We won and that's all that matters right now. Cheer cheer.

I haven't watched a replay yet, but my eyes told me I was seeing Errol nominate for one ruck contest towards the end, my brain is still refusing to believe it - but that's what I thought I saw.
If anyone else had the same recollection/hallucination as I, please let me know - I need to know whether it's me or the world that's gone mad.

I don't think you've gone mad. It's the world. Several of them added "ruck contester" to their resumes last night. Not sure many registered a hit-out.

I was very impressed with Collingwood coach. At his press conference he gave us a magnanimous compliment. He spoke eloquently and with dignity. Well done, Craig

Not a McLean fan. Too slow. Amartey can clunk marks just as well and can actually play below his knees. I think amartey and McLean will have to play on Stewart- so it will be whoever the club thinks is a better negating tall

I’d definitely pick Amartey over McLean, but crossing everything that Sam gets a miracle

It was a bit of a miss by the club not to appeal it down. Nothing to lose, especially as our big man department is a bit thin after an injury to hickey, buddy or Reid.

I saw the exact thing. We were throwing everyone into the ruck when Reid went off injured. Couldn't believe it when I saw Gulden in there.
