Thoughts on AFLW

Have been watching AFLW a bit on television. I went to my first live game with my daughter and saw the drawn game between Tigers and Kangaroos at Arden Street. Great community atmosphere with lots of families and zero feral behaviour in the crowd. Seeing the game live you get to better experience the speed, pressure, tackling and intensity of the game. Athleticism and fitness of the players are very impressive. As far as i know, all the players are not full time so marking and kicking skills will improve over time. I will definitely be going to more games next year and recommend that people see a live game before passing judgment.Comment

We finished on the bottom without a win. As a result, we have pick 1 in the next draft.
Ordinarily, this would be a good thing, but the next draft will only be for overage players that missed out in previous drafts.
As a result, according to the article, it effectively means our pick 1 is closer in value to pick 88 from the previous draft, as no new players will be available to draft. This is bad, as it gives limited opportunity to improve our list before the next season. Only after the conclusion of the next season would we have a chance to draft new players.
As a result, our pick 1 is the most worthless pick 1 I have ever seen.
To correct this, priority picks for the most affected clubs should be on the table in some form."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I see Meg has alerted everyone to this on the AFLW 2023 Pre season thread and well done.....but I thought I'd put this on this thread as it is in the main RWO/Swans chat forum where I believe more traffic flows so to speak.
Just check Chloe Molloy out and the way she speaks in the link below, it's super impressive.....I'm very excited for what she is going to bring to our women's program and team.....she's seems a beauty!

She's super impressive, from the games I've watched her play for Collingwood but now listening to her speak and the way she wants to help this young team and just the clarity of what she wants to achieve here and how it fits with her own growth as wellComment

The other thought I had when listening to her.
She was mentioning how she hadn't seen such an impressive setup like ours with the integrated programs and I guess the Hall of industries she might have been inferring.
I was under the impression Collingwood had a leading setup as far as those things went and that they spent lots on their training centres and the such.
But Chloe inferred ours were pretty specialComment
