As for restricting free speech, that is entirely up to the respondent. That's free speech in a nutshell. We all have the same rights. We all have a right to respond.....or we can choose not to respond, therefore the restriction of free speech is on you, no one else.

To be honest, the only 'songsheet' we are all on is the team we barrack for....the Sydney Swans.

So it's up to you whether you contribute....or not. Quite simple really. For what it's worth, I'd like you to stay and contribute.....and just enjoy the banter. Or not....it's up to you.
Totally agree Stevo. This forum is, and should be enjoyable aswe have diverse opinions about players, coaches etc. I think it is fair to say that Horse has lacked a Plan B and has been slow at times to make moves. He has also been too defensive at times but has improved his game plan since Don Pyke’s arrival.

We were robbed in 2016 as we all know- however last year was a total embarrassment for us. Admittedly we didn’t expect to make the GF at the beginning or midway through the year, and with such a young team against a very experienced and physically perhaps stronger team the odds weren’t in our favour. We can argue that he made some wrong match-ups and the 1st quarter got away from us. But I think it was a bit deeper than that- we just fell across the line against the Pies, which showed to me that our young players were tiring and their bodies feeling the pinch. All very understandable and so in hindsight the GF debacle was understandable, though of course not expected.

The big question now is: how are we going to respond? Some think we will be scarred but I don’t think so.
If our showing in the GF was due to tired young bodies after a gruelling season, which I think was the case, then this year we can go one better. We need luck with injuries as we don’t have depth in some areas like the ruck, but our youngsters have matured a bit and beefed up. Exciting times ahead!

      Lol.

I must be in hell. The wifi is free but it's slower than dial-up.

To me , this restricts speech, if someone has a different opinion and as not as it is demeaning or defamatory, I think posters should be able say what they feel. This a football site.
Now I know that some have gone overboard and probably needed to be banned, but as someone who has a different view on our coaching management, I knew from past experiences on this site that my comment would not be welcome, hence the precious remark.
There is no way I would bag any of our players, it is our coaching management I have a concern with, what is the saying? the height of stupidity is trying to the same thing over and over again, and trying and get a different result.
As I said I have been a member for a long time, and I have seen people leave here for Bigfooty, where at least people have the chance to make different opinions, now I believe that this site also needs new blood, if not, it will remain an echo chamber where no critical analyst is allowed.
Slightly over dramatic -no, just an observation of being around here for a long time and observing what happens when you have a different opinion.
I want nothing better than to see the Bloods succeed, but Grand Finals are too hard to come by, and to waste opportunities like we have had seems to me to be more of a coaching management style than anything else.
If we are two and two under Horse, I would call that a success, but to me we have failed and that calls for questions to be asked, football clubs exist to win flags, so far we have been 1 and 3 with Horse, obviously we have the talent , but I think we need a new direction.

I may be replying to a ghost account here but anyways...

There is so much more to the decision of extending Longmire's tenure other than "1 from 4". I think it's far too simplistic and disregards everything else Horse does so well. He is a Grand Final winning coach who has regularly given the club a genuine shot at taking out the flag. He's shown he can evolve and adapt his game plan. He's gracious, conscientious and has the support of the club and players. You can't expect too much more from a coach.

It cuts deep losing Grand Finals but Horse has consistently shown he has what it takes to be a top level AFL coach. I'll back the club and him to deliver (at least) another flag before he retires. It's not even a risky bet.

He has the respect of the players who love him, and that is so important. Also, he genuinely loves the club and unlike others, he is not a career coach but a one club one. To me, that says it all.

Apart from Horse having the support of the playing group, the club, the Board, the rest of the competition, he is also one of the most successful coaches this century. Under him we have won about as many games, as many finals (I wonder if anyone has won more), and appeared in as many grand finals as any other club. Our main rival would be Geelong and that is because we had a quick rebuild and this means have a younger, better list than them.

Finally, even if you want to focus solely on the record in grand finals (which seems obtuse to me) then you still can't sheet it all home to the head coach. The players have more influence on the outcome than the coaches. And the coaching load, and match selection etc is spread among more people than just the head coach. The head coach obviously has more say in all coaching matters than any other individual - but they can still be outvoted.

And there is probably another dozen teams (or more?) in the league that would love to have him.

well you haven’t been pounced upon - so your feras are unfounded. Been here since 2002 and the only big issues I can recall are 2 posters being unreasonable (1 about a venue and another about a player)

I remember saying he'd be worth a spot on the list when the kid made his first appearance in the ressies - but I hadn't considered that "love"
