The Suns' first-round pick (provisional pick 8) has been mooted as a part of a possible trade as a part of pick swaps at the high end of the draft. See here: GETTABLE: Clubs chase trade 'golden ticket', Saint on outer, next Zach Merrett (afl.com.au, video)

As for points-bearing picks, the Suns have plenty already: provisional picks 27, 31, 46, 50, 56, 64, 68 and 70, in addition to their first-round pick. They won't struggle to match bids.

Not sure how to put a link up but there’s a very cool interview on YouTube of 6 year old Connor O’Sullivan as an Auskicker saying he’s a Swans supporter. Just google Connor O’Sullivan Auskick.

          That was a decent find.

There's another one a couple of years behind. Another Swans fan?

Just noticed that our academy played an u16 national championship game against the Giants academy on the weekend. Rookie Me has done some scouting notes on our win.

Scouting Notes: 2023 AFL U16s - Giants Academy vs. Swans Academy - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central

Of the players mentioned, Noah Chamberlain has played a few Talent League games this season and seems a prospect. He has speed and skill and kicked a few goals in those games.

Looks like our remaining matches are against the Lions on July 3rd at Carrara and against the Suns at Sharks on July 6th.

Geez a couple of those boys sound exciting if they continue to develop! That Max King would be a brilliant addition as a big midfielder!

The U16s read very well, types that we'll need as well. Be nice to get two or three high quality in the same draft, like Brisbane last year, Gold Coast this year. Local lads with no go home problem.

As a side note, we are currently sitting with the second strongest ND hand, thanks to our slide down the ladder and Hawks languishing near the bottom. Gold Coast's first pick is up for grabs or, if we finished 15th, could we make a play for pick 1 from WCE?

The female and male versions of the Allies both take on Vic Metro in Brisbane today, at 11.30am and 2pm respectively, with seven and five Swans representatives. Seems like there's telecast links in this brief article from the Swans website.

Swans well represented in Allies double header

This is the Allies team for later today.

                      1 Ryley Sanders
                      2 Harvey Thomas
                      3 Caiden Cleary
                      7 Lachlan Cabor
                      9 Jake Rogers
                      11 Phoenix Gothard
                      13 Jack Callinan
                      14 Indhi Kirk
                      15 James Leake
                      19 Jack Glanvill
                      22 Colby McKercher
                      24 Samuel Marshall
                      25 Jed Walter
                      26 William Graham
                      27 Heath Ollington
                      28 Nicholas Williams
                      29 Tye Gander
                      30 Charlie McCormack
                      32 Arie Schoenmaker
                      38 Patrick Snell
                      39 Ethan Read
                      41 Connor O'Sullivan
                      44 Caleb May
                      10 Leonardo Lombard (emg)
                      40 Bradley McDonald (emg)

For anyone who mightn't have been following, our Swans academy members are Cleary, Cabor, Kirk, Gander and May. Since Max Rider isn't in the team, I assume that he hasn't recovered from the injury that he picked up playing VFL a couple of weeks ago. Probably also of strong interest is O'Sullivan. He's a very promising kpd who can swing forward, who could be available at our first pick and is a childhood Swans fan, from the southern part of NSW that is no longer tied to the Giants.

Allies making a mess of Vic Metro. 43-6 at quarter time. Of our Swans, Cleary has probably been the best, with plenty of effective in and under work. May has had some hits to advantage. Cabor has had a couple of nice touches from behind the ball, including a forward 50 entry that spotted McCormack (GWS) for a goal.

On other sides prospects, the Suns have a beast of a kpf in Walter. Three first quarter goals and some very strong charges at the ball.

Ashcroft from Vic just got what he deserved. Kicked it out on the full, after doing a Ginnivan.

Vic Metro more competitive that quarter, to cut the margin to 58-25. Cleary might be the leading possession getter with 19; many of them contested.

Gander had a much easier kick for his second goal, after Vic Metro gave away a 50 on the 50.

The allies are almost 10 goals ahead at 3/4 time. Never thought I would see the day a Vic academy team was totally outclassed. Cleary looking good.
