While port were good, I'd say a big influence on the score was giants doing unforced errors. How many times did port win a centre clearance by intercepting a giants hand ball!

Anyway, good luck to port. GWS will probably need to beat Carlton too make finals now in the final round.

    What a great season.

And.. what is it with the soccer nuts like 'foss' declaring that this is the turning point for domestic soccer in this country and the socceroos.

The Matilda's are a.'womens sport' success story.
Firstly, to try and tie in the socceroos is patronising sexism. They have done nothing in fact worse then nothing because they suck all the international funds up.

Secondly, this won't make soccer mainstream, liked the Australian open doesn't make tennis mainstream. More people went to the AFL than all soccer combined this weekend. The men's game between Sydney FC and central coast Mariners had 1000 people, tops.

Foss and his clown army are ruining a great spring moment for women. Celebrate it as that. If anything, all finding for Socceroos should now be directed at the matilda's

The WWC fuss will blow over. Unfortunately now the latest idiot premier in NSW is talking about it being a public holiday in NSW
if Australian wins. Maybe he can pay for it out of his own pocket. What is wrong with these people? It's a game.

Our draw with Geelong is having an interesting effect on current ladder positions.

Half a game more, we move up one spot, half a game fewer and we move down one (Geelong would go ahead of us).

For Geelong, it's worse - half a game fewer and they don't move, half a game more and they would move up four spots. The draw nullifies their percentage.

Heeney's point to draw the game against Geelong could end up causing Geelong to miss the finals.

I most definitely look at that as two points dropped by us rather than two points salvaged. We were the better team by some margin that night - in all respects other than kicking 5.15.
