    From Wiki:

"In Schrödinger's original formulation, a cat, a flask of poison, and a radioactive source are placed in a sealed box. If an internal monitor (e.g. a Geiger counter) detects radioactivity (i.e. a single atom decaying), the flask is shattered, releasing the poison, which kills the cat."

    Hope that helps.
The point of the experiment is that the cat is both dead and alive.

Two opposing states occurring simultaneously, akin to the AFL's position on the umpire.

Assuming they get a 100k fine like Port for not doing a HIA or subbing him.

The Philips was heaps worse, ran past it at the man flush with the head.

Or, as I was trying to get at; in typical AFL clarity, a bump is both legal and illegal, until contact or non-contact with the head determines its legal status.

Is Phillips in trouble for this bump on O'Brien?
            Interesting. Agreed that it's arguable.

No one is talking about the two free kicks that should have been paid to Sydney in the last 20 seconds. The first was a holding the ball where the Crows player had prior opportunity but pulled it in. The second more obvious one is a blatant over the shoulder on McDonald maybe (hard to tell) right on the 50 arc with just seconds remaining. You can even hear one of the commentators say “oh that’s high”.

It would have been pretty easy for Gillon to highlight the process for video reviews is fine (which seems to have been the main point he wished to convey), dip his lid to the Adelaide faithful with a wink, and still show a way to support the goal umpire by highlighting they were in the best spot and backed their own judgement.

After friday nights game, Melb will know where they stand.

If Pies win, Melb get a game at the MCG.

I think they would be happy with that, as opposed to trying to get into 2nd for a home final and end up on the road.

They have no incentive to win if Pies win.

Sunday squad will be full of surprises id say, can see Gawn, May not playing and maybe Trac

Still reckon its only worth a week as it was totally accidental. McCartin did not try to bump he merely tried to block McAdam away from the ball.

Unfortunately the advice above is correct. Just spoke to a mate in Adelaide who's partner works at the Crows - and McAdam has a fractured cheekbone.

It was graded careless, high impact and high contact. You can't go grade lower than careless, if the rumour about McAdam suffering a broken jaw is correct then high impact will stand and high contact is also obvious. The Swans would have to argue along similar lines to what the Weagles did for Bailey Williams a few weeks ago when he was charged for a bump on Mason Redman. I think there are some similarities in the two cases, but crucially Redman fumbled while in McAdam's case the ball took a wicked bounce.i.e. it will either be 0 or 2 weeks if the Swans choose to contest it

Can’t see a scenario where we don’t challenge the suspension.

It wasn’t even an attempted bump, Tom was protecting his space. Even a week is rough, regardless of the outcome for the crows player.

From what I can tell, McCartin was trying to avoid contact with McAdam, was running away from McAdam and toward the ball, when he was maliciously head-butted by McAdam. It's lucky McCartin didn't suffer a broken rib or dislocated shoulder. The MRO got the wrong man.

I don't think there's ever been a team that won the GF by 81 points and made finals the following year. It doesn't pay to embarrass the Swans.

You spend too much time trying to understand what holding the ball means, which everyone knows is totally incomprehensible.

Since Round 15, starting the round in 15th spot on the ladder, we’ve lost one match, and drawn another. Poor goal kicking cost us wins in both games. An amazing effort from our never-say-die club to now be certainties to play finals. What an unbelievable ride it is following the Swans, no matter what.
At the risk of stirring the pot, it’s also been a pleasure to enjoy deafening silence from those who blame Horse and his assistants for every ill and misfortune afflicting the squad. Kinnear Beatson’s interview last week gave away the fact that many of the team have played this season either underdone or under duress. This makes the effort of playing finals even more praiseworthy.
