Really sad to see him go. A Swan for life.

              Replying to Meg...

On the weekend I watched an interview Hickey did with Will Schofield. He said that his son went to the Grand Final and afterwards he kept singing the Geelong song over and over and over again. And he was making Hickey sing along with him. That is Torture! I'm glad to hear that Lou is a Swan ????.

Shame that he's retiring, but I'm sure that he feels that his body is struggling and it probably wouldn't have done him or the side any good to hang on for another year. And since he seems to genuinely respected by the club, I feel that doing the right thing by his team mates is important for him. Also glad that of the four clubs that he's played for, the Swans are the one that he appears to have the most affection for.

He's certainly played many excellent games for us. Which surprised me a bit, as I wasn't all that enthused by his signing, because I thought he was a bit of a log, when he was with the Suns and the Saints. I think what won me over, was his ability to get in the clear and often be a useful link in possession chains. What surprised me further, was the fact that he was quite good at finishing off those chains, with a successful shot from around 50. And obviously he always battled hard in the ruck, with his ability to do a bit of roving himself a feature.

Since he seems to be a smart, enthusiastic and likeable person, I'm sure he'll have a successful life after football.

                  Lol that’s hilarious!

Or not - for any Swans fan who heard the singing at the time ....

One thing that you can say about Tom is he gave his all. I hope he plays a few more games yet.

Big Tommy has played a key role in re-emergence of our team post 2020. Only special players get to wear 31. Well done Tommy

Five more wins will do the trick.

I’d even settle for a loss then four wins.

He just wrapped up how we feel about supporting this club. It’s a very hard game on the body, especially rucking , must be so knackered after each run.
