I am the very model of consistency. And at this moment consists of great disappointment with the team which literally 'dropped the world cup', or made a premiership far more difficult than it needed to be.

So glad the F-pups are out. Suck on that cheaters!

Happy for the Giants and hopefully they dented Carltons confidence for next week.

Having said that, I don't think our performance today bodes well for the finals.....unless finals games are three quarters long. Alas they are not.

I can see a couple of ex swans in Newman and Hewett really hurting us in the final. They are both in really good form at the moment.

Good news for us, because I can't see weetering getting anything less than a week for the eye gouge. AFL is very strict on this, and it was after play had stopped and no reason for weetering to be there, he was nowhere near the tackle.

It is Carlton tho. Suspect he may get off

I reckon he will get a fine only. The contact to Greene's face was fleeting.

Many self righteous have said in the past that the eye region is 'sacrosanct' (God, I hate that word)

Toby's face after the altercation reminded of James Hird's face after it's "mix up" with Andrew Dunkley during the

You've probably noticed Barry there is a lot of "sacrosanct" going around in footy. It's all sacrosanct, until it's not of course.
At which point it is downgraded and becomes "just part of footy" and we should all just "move on".

I'm of the opinion that being near the eye region is off limits- but I've never played the game and thus have no idea about what can happen in the heat of the moment. I don't like GWS but they played much better than Carlton yesterday,

It's going to be a difficult game and I don't expect us to win. However, I will be happy if we are competitive and it gives the young guys more finals experience at the MCG. So it's a good result no matter what happens.

I can see a lot of good years ahead for us if we can keep this team together and get a good solid reliable ruck.

I found the labelling of the incident on the AFL site curious. Instead of the usual, "Is (insert name here) in trouble for this?" the header is "Greene involved in scuffle with Blues duo".

Which seems to be downplaying the culpability of Weitering.

Yes, if Toby had scratched Weitering's face yesterday, the headline would have been "Greene in trouble again for face contact".
Soon they'll be suggesting Weitering is the victim and will need long term counselling for having to see blood on Tobys face.

For a big city, Melbourne has a small town mentality when it comes to footy fans and its footy media.

Yes, that's the sort of mentality you are always going get in one code towns like Melbourne. It's the same in one code towns
in other parts of the world. The walls are never very far away.

                                Weitering only received a fine.
Bedford for the Giants was suspended for 1 match.
