The way he is nullifying ability of Gawn to run at it is great ruck work. He will be massive for us if he stays fit.

Much more open quarter there once fatigue started to hit. Melbourne came hard and we are just hanging on in there. But even if we get rolled, I've seen plenty of good stuff tonight, even with some of our usual good performers well down (Gulden, Warner for instance) and forwards not getting into it much, beyond a bit from Hayden and Hayward int hat quarter.

Heeney having a terrific game - hope it is a sign of things to come. Only a few look anywhere near comfortable in the conditions, and he is right up there.

Also shame umpires missed a clear throw in lead up to the Maclean out of bounds, all of about 10 metres up. Clear scoop by the Melbourne defender. 3 times its been pinged tonight, but he swallowed his whistle that time.
