I don't want to jinx it, but I have a feeling we will have another strong performance tomorrow, so hopefully he'll come on when the game is all but over and be able to play with a bit of freedom and less pressure.

Our first day game of the season and the weather is forecast to be perfect. Fine, low twenties and only a light breeze. So, I expect all our classy ball users to take advantage of those conditions and run Richmond ragged. Plus, Martin and Grimes have been added their injury list.

SEN has reported that Wicks isn’t playing football for Sydney at any level this week after a dispute with a teammate boiled over.

Swans move quickly to diffuse tense situation between teammates

It's a trifle. SEN for goodness' sake.

I was hopeful for Mitchell last week and he paid back my faith. I would give him 3 weeks minimum to prove himself at the top level.

They’ve at least reported it responsibly, unlike what Sam McClure and Herald Sun did to Brisbane.

McClure is arguably the greatest @&#$stick in journalism. He ran for months with Harley Reid won’t go to WC and they’ll split their number one draft pick, and Dustin Martin to Gold Coast was a given. He’s now taken a big footy rumour and splashed it out there.

I’ve read the Sam Edmund story on Sam Wicks and I’m not sure why this story was leaked. Seems like a matter that could have been managed in house without press stories. I want to speculate about whom leaked the story and why the story was leaked. Any suggestions?

I'm perplexed by this. The club has stated that no-one's done anything wrong. Why is Wicks out of both the AFL and VFL teams, then?

Maybe Wicks is upset by something or the victim here and wanted a week off. It doesn’t say he was stood down.

If he has/needs the week off then there is more to this. Not ideal.

Yes, on the field, Wicks seems to be the Swans player who has the most trouble with anger management issues. So, it's possible that it's also the case off the field. Therefore, he might have needed a bit of time off, in order to slowly cool down, after it seems that he was confronted with a rumour that wasn't true.

It was leaked because of all this Illicit drug stuff going on, better to get out in front with this story than have the media questioning why Wicks isn’t playing, that’s the reason this story has seen light of day.

Pretty sure it's the city end.
