Amartey party well and truly started. 4 kicks, 4 goals.
We did well to get back to within 4 points at half time after being down by 23 points midway through that quarter. We need to stop giving the opponents early leads."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Glad Judas didn't kick that late one. This side continues to amaze. We looked a fair way off and then went bang!
I know the commentators and everyone else thinks we'll continue to do what we've done in previous 2nd halves. I just hope the boys don't just think it'll happen as we need to really bring the pressure to knock this side off at home.
Come out hard boys and break their spirit!

Everything went right for the crows yet they’re only 4 points ahead. Feel they’re in trouble in the 2nd halfHe ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Go Joel. What a quarter of footy.
I guess the good news is we’ve largely played like trash, some of our other talls like Logan and McCartin have had total stinkers, Chad looks more interested in picking fights and sledging, our halfbacks have been quiet, our mids aren’t defending at stoppages . . . and we’re still less than a kick off it.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Thank goodness for Amartey in that quarter - without him we'd be in a 4 or 5 goal hole (and to some degree deserved - we've been fairly average for large chunks of it).
As it stands - the Crows had a pretty good first half where everything in their forward 50 turned to gold, yet just a few points up for all that hard work. Hopefully a few of our boys wake up at half time, and come out with some renewed energy in the second half.
The umpiring is just all over the shop - they are letting Crows players scragg, hold, push, whatever they feel like at will in marking contests - yet we've had I think about 2 free kicks all night related to it (the Heeney one surely should have been downfield), when if rules were being applied we could easily have been awarded 7 or 8. As for the inconsistency in Holding the Ball/tackles - it appears to be getting worse, not better.
For all the ball he has had, Gulden has been well below his best, and with the exception of Amartey (gosh he is kicking well for goal at the moment), not sure there is anyone you could easily conclude played well in that first half."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
