    Clangers, 1%ers

What are clangers and one percenters?
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:

Clangers are errors, such as kicking to the opposition or OOBOTF.

1% ers are plays that don't appear on the stat sheet, such as smothers, tap ons, etc.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Some years ago on the Weagles website you could drill down and find Mick Malthouse's 101 one-percenters. A fascinating ( .. and possibly dysfunctionally "anal" .. ) view of the things that contribute to winning a footy match.

From memory one of them was something to the effect of " tying up your boots and the way you threaded the laces .. always make sure they lie flat and are not twisted - something that could cost you a goal at a critical moment." Cripes, but their 2 flags - 92 & 94 - might make you think for a moment about what it takes to go all the way.
Good men do good deeds. Evil men do evil deeds. But it takes religion for a good man to do evil deeds.
