    The worst game ever?

Surely tonight's Pies vs Crows game must rival the Swans Saints game from 2002 as the worst game in recent memory? At least the Swans Saints game had a half decent final quarter where both teams at least gave the appearance of trying to win the thing.

How can a team containing McLeod, Riccuito, Hart, Carey, Johncock, Edwards and Welsh be that bad?

Having heard the result, I decided to stay up and watch the replay (even to see Pies win and Ed go red & bust a corpuscle).

It was one of those good old-fashioned tight dust ups for sure. I simply see the uber-brillaince of a McLeod, for example, as just starting to fade away. Don't get me wrong - he's got the talent still .. like Carey (.. now now .. ) but the old glory isnt quite there in bucketloads like they had.

It's been mentioned that the list is on the elderly side, and it's going to start becoming more evident as the season progresses.

It was an awful game. V disappointing for the Crows, they had the chance to win the game back in the final quarter (going on the ammount of times they went into their forward line).
They were just kicking down to Carey in hope!
Obviously the Pies wanted it a little more.

Oh the umpiring though... fair enough it doesn't seem right that at one stage there was 11 to 1 free kicks, but most of them were deserved! I LOOOOOVED the 50 Rocca gave away.... what a temper tantrum!

it's very sad to see, he's one of my favourite players. he hasn't been quite right all season, he just didn't seem to care much for a lot of the game last night.

I'm disappointed the Crows let that one slip because I tipped them... - if only to avoid tipping Collingwood! I heard the last qtr on the radio and from that I don't think we've got any reason to fear either of these two teams this year. Adelaide must be kicking themselves for giving away good draft picks for Wayne Carey.

              The last Qtr was farcical.

From one end to the other and marked by the opposing backmen, and sent back the other way!!

I only saw some of the first quarter (damn early saturday morning starts) and it was great to see Rocca give away a free.

Was the rest that truly bad?

6:30, 6:45 that kind of time depending whether its an away game or not.

                    Finish at about 11:00 - 11:30.

                    Tennis that is.

Early start for a Sat. I'd be lucky to hit the ball that early.

I get up at 5:30 Mon-Fri, so I try and sleep in on Sat and Sun. But I was up on Sat at 6 myself for filming of Ch 7 Gameshow!!

Mate of mine witnessed the Pies Blues game the other week and apart from the great result in the last, this was a dog of a match. Kicking into the man on the mark, kicks just not hitting targets, was woeful.

Reckon the worst game I have been to was the Freo game in 2001. Talk about rubbish, a crap team travels thousands of kms and manages to bring us down to that same low level. I recall Rocket saying that if that game was a race horse, someone would have shot it...LAME!

Weren't we already at that level though? I thought we'd lost 4 or 5 games on the trot leading up to it.

Not playing winning footy, but we weren't quite THAT poor.
