    Best Player you've seen.

Who is the best player that you've seen? Lockett and Ablett are the best 2 IMO.

    What do people think?

    I would say:

    Lockett
    Carey
    Ablett

    in that order.

      In no particular order:

      T Lockett
      G Ablett
      W Carey
      L Matthews
      M Blight

      Just behind this group:
      G Williams
      J Hird
      M Voss
      K Greig
      R Harvey
      P Moore
      P Knights

And there are a few others I would be tempted to include in that second group (like S Madden, R Glendinning, P Kelly...).

For pure skill, Greg Williams and Keith Greig have probably been the best I've seen so far.

But given that footy is about courage AND skill, I'd have to think that Matthews and Lockett would both be pretty close to the perfect mix.

I can't split Wayne Carey and Michael Voss.

Most raw talent - Gary Ablett

Carey, very closely followed by Lockett.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

                    W. Carey, R. Harvey, G. Williams and Mr. Lockett are the greatest I have seen.

With P. Kelly and G. Healy being my favourite players of all time.

In replays I have seen Blight and Matthews are amazing, wish I could remember seeing them live!

I suspect Jonathon Brown and Nick Reiwoldt might add themselves to the top list in a few years. Time will tell I guess.

going way back here - Kevin Bartlett, Alex Jesulenko, Leigh Matthews (thug like but bloody good!) Garry Ablett, Tony Lockett, Malcolm Blight, Paul VanderHar.

Would love to have seen Skilton, Dyer, Richards & Davis
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

You guys make me feel like a fossil.

                          Best I saw:

Darrell Baldock (best wet weather footballer ever)
                          Jezza (freak)
                          Royce Hart (superb mark)
Peter Hudson (not just a superb footballer, but made lloyd look an amateur in the crying to ump stakes.)

Coule of guys from the Yarra delta in that lot. Hey swansrule, a Tassie SOO team in the late sixties would have kicked some serious butt!
