    Gasper

I didn't want to post this on the RWO forum due to fear of lots of people questioning my sanity... so be kind. I am taking my medication regularly.

How about trading for Gasper? I know, I know. He is playing crap in a crappy team with no confidence. Yes, he is a mercenary (TRAITOR) and being paid obscene amount of money. However IF we can get him for a low pick AND significant reduction in his wage (pay cut/Tigers subsidy), would you go for him?

Gasper may regain his form in a different (yet familar) environment. Despite his current form, I still think he is a capable KPP.

    YOUTH POLICY!

Whats the point of having LRT/Rogers if they arent going to get game time!

They can only develop by playing.

Would'nt Gasper be a bit long in the tooth by now? Did we let him go at the end of 95? he'd have to be somewhere close to or over 30. He's not worth it IMO.

Trading for a single older player is not mutually exclusive with a youth policy.

Gaspar will be 29 next season.

I can't imagine he would ever want to come back to Sydney.

No, but as I said for a youth policy to work they have to be played.Recruiting Gasper would set our youth back.

Of course they have to be played, but placing a single experienced player in an important position in amongst a number of junior players is not inconsistent with a youth policy and can be beneficial.

Sure, but I was talking generalities rather than specifically Gaspar.

My point was simply that you don't knock back a potential trade for an older player simply because of the 'youth policy.'

Not a chance in hell that we will ever see Gas running around in red and white again. Thank God - he has already cost us a fortune.
