With all of the punishment that Brett Kirk takes on a regular basis you could tell Brown was pretty out of line by Brett jumping up and actually going after him instead of trotting off on his merry way as per usual.

I have no idea how it wasn't picked up by one of the umpires during the game.

I thought it was unusual when the cameras first picked up the action and Kirk was involved in a skirmish. Then they showed they replay of the incident and Kirk was taken out, then I understood, why!!!

He won't get one week, he'll get at least three. The action was clearly deliberate, Kirk was struck with enough force to send him to the ground, and he could have caused injury.

He got 1. Reading the Kangas board at bigfooty I saw some people whinging that this was going to cost them a crucial game, that it should have just been a free kick and leave it at that and they quoted some git on 3AW saying the same... of course if it was a free kick you would have to wipe off 6 points from the Kangas and they probably wouldn't have won... Kirky would have had a free kick and we would have the chance to score from it... Bally would have rushed the point instead of going for the boundary... suprising that the Melbourne media would not point that out...

His appeal failed. They said his arm action was consistent with striking!!!
