ill be damned if i'm waiting until 2096 for us to win a premiership, although 2007 would be fine with me.

C'mon you new someone was going to check.....................

1904 SANFL Flag was won by Norwood with Port Adelaide coming second (pretty sure they didn't play Grand Finals in those days,....... not too sure that they did in the VFL either???)

Now that Brisbane did indeed lose the Grand Final, it's worth probing this interesting coincidence a bit deeper.

1900 - Melbourne win premiership, Essendon finish 3rd
2000 - Melbourne lose Grand Final to Essendon

1901 - Essendon win premiership, Fitzroy finish 4th
2001 - Essendon lose Grand Final to the Brisbane Lions

1902 - Collingwood win premiership, Fitzroy finish 3rd
2002 - Collingwood lose Grand Final to the Brisbane Lions

1903 - Collingwood win premiership, Fitzroy finish 2nd
2003 - Collingwood lose Grand Final to the Brisbane Lions

1904 - Fitzroy win premiership. (I'm stretching a bit here, but the Magpies finish 3rd)
2004 - the Brisbane Lions lose the Grand Final to Port Adelaide

            1905 - Fitzroy win premiership.
            2005 - ?

            The pattern here is the winners finishing 3, 4, 3, 2, 3 ...
If that pattern keeps up ....

            Could 2007 be our year?

If this trend continues, in that case I'll be looking forward to watching Collingwood in 2027-2030!

Another sign was that the Swans beat every team in the AFL once in 2004, except the eventual premiers!

Now that everyone else in the AFL bar Fremantle has won at least one flag, could we at least win one before the Dockers please?

However, we beat no side twice in 2004 either.

Nor did we lose to any side twice!
