    International Rules Game II

    Hello,

I must confess that I haven't actually finished watched the 2nd IR game yet (week 13 of semester. V. v. yukky), but here's my thoughts so far:

    - I thought it very funny that the Irish commentator was commenting on how disgraceful the brawl was, while Eddie just raved about the Australians being ACDC not Kylie....

    - Aussies were playing much, much better.

    - The dog. Didn't do any favours for those of us who argue the game ISN'T a farce but my goodness it was funny. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. Though maybe off-season madness is beginning to kick in.

    - I know it's been said a (hundred) million times before, but McPhee and Riewoldt?! I couldn't tell the difference.

    - As for Swans, Kirk was brilliant (so far), and Tadhg's 2nd over was yet another piece of individual brilliance. Poor old Craig Bolton didn't have the best series. Didn't see much of Jude in the first half, though he did tackle Tadhg at one point, which made me chuckle a bit. I still can't get used to our boys playing against each other.

So that's my IR verdict, after 1.5 games. Doubt it will change after the remaining half. Now for the long, long weeks until Round 1.

    Erin

P.S. Sorry about this: I'm bored

Can we add one more option: "I don't care"?

Eddie was pathetic (as usual). What really got my goat though was Eddie continually mispronouncing Tadhg's last name (even with the Irish guy beside him pronouncing it correctly).

It's not as though Tadhg is some strange foreign player he's never heard of either. If Demetriou and Jackson can manage to get it right then a professional announcer like Eddie has NO EXCUSE WHATSOVER. In fact it's so basic that I'm almost forced to believe he's doing it intentionally.

I think Eddie must have a thing going for Kerri-Ann because that's the way he says "Kennelly".

Glad that I am not the only one that this bugs. Eddie has been doing this for years - in IR games and on the rare occasions we are blighted with him commentating on Swans matches.

I have formed the conclusion that he is either very stupid that he can't work out that he is pronouncing the name differently to everyone else, or he is being deliberately rude in mispronouncing the name.

No-one who can speak the English language is THAT stupid. People learn to speak in the first place by listening to, and copying others. If he can pronounce Riewoldt, why would Kennelly phase him? The other commentator was clearly trying to teach him by paraphrasing Eddie's comments straight away with the right pronunciation .. Eddie's just a stubborn @rsehole!

Did Crouch play? My bro came home with a friend and hogged the TV so I couldn't watch the game. Heard I didn't miss out on much. Assuming Crouch still injured, did he play?

I haven't been to the swans site for 4 weeks.

I can't keep up with a 21 year old fag brother of mine living in the house!

You have 268 DVDs and only one TV?

I haven't been to the swans site for 4 weeks.
Why not just look on the Swans site?

Cos I just didn't look at the site.

We have 6 TV's actually. Anything else people need to know like our 3 DVD players?

So if you have 6 TVs, then how does this make sense - "My bro came home with a friend and hogged the TV so I couldn't watch the game"?

Instead of asking what happened, why not look at the Swans site first to see what that says?

Does your kitchen have granite benchtops? Do you have an X-Box and a PlayStation2? Are there more televisions than people in your house? How big are the televisions? Do you have a bar in your house?
