    Rodney Eade

I have been following Bulldogs over this summer more than usual because of Eade's appointment. I am starting to think that they may make the eight.

I liked and still respect Eade as a coach and it appears the current appointment has generated a buzz around Bulldogs. Reminds me of 95-96...

I think he will do quite well at Footscray.Top eight?,perhaps!I also admire Rocket as a coach,he did a good job at Sydney but he had to go in 2002 as the swannies were getting a bit stale!Needed some fresh ideas as do the bulldogs in 2005.I spoke to him at the beginning of the year outside Easts leagues club,it was just before the Afl season and the start of the rugby league one.He seemed like a nice bloke.I wish him the best of luck at the Western Bulldogs.
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

I reckon Rocket will do really well at the 'Dogs - I think he will have learnt a lot from coaching us and from his few years on the sidelines.

Wouldn't surprise me if they made the 8, maybe this year.

Eade is all class when it comes to footy, and he's a nice bloke as well . . . . except during a game, when he more closely resembles a rabid axe murderer.

I think he'll give the Doggies a real shake-up, and drag them screaming into the 21st century.

I thought we would seriously regret losing Rocket, but by some miracle we've found a very capable replacement. It might turn out to have been the best result all round.

wouldnt be surprised if they make the 8, but i would say they might come maybe 10th, or just outside the eight. would be very surprised if they didnt show immediate improvement.

I'm dreading the day we play the Doggies. From what I've read and listened to of him, I think Eade has us worked out pretty well. Plus his inside knowledge on most players would be more than handy.

Ditto!! We have often struggled against the doggies, Eade as coach will only compound it.

Maybe that is why the lions got cressa, so they can wrangle back their advantage over us.

I am a big fan of Rocket, I think he is a great coach and will be out to really prove what he can do this time around.

I really do hope he can take them to the top 8. I would be rapped for him.

may be a two year trek to the top 8
but he could be just the man to turn the dogs around

he is really giving himself nothing to lose by coaching the dogs...as they are regulars at being average so expectations must be low anyway
Theres not much left to say

Eade is really a master tactician! He apparently negated Lions defence by using smaller and agile forwards (which resulted in Johnson and Leppitich (?) moved to play out of their usual positions).

Wish our current coaching staff have a fraction of Eade's innovation and risk-taking approach....

                          Bulldogs will make the finals.

Looking at these postings it's good to see that there is still lots of goodwill towards Rocket. I was sorry he left in the circumstances that he did and have been watching the Bulldogs with more than a bit of interest. Amazing effort against the Lions and results like that reflect well on the coach. When the Bulldogs play their "home" game against us, we'll desperately need the win but I hope the crowd gives Rocket a warm reception for his first time back in a few years (commentating visits excluded).
