Keep out of Sydney - Buckley suffers hamstring injury

Nathan Buckley's poor luck with injuries has continued into 2005, with the Magpie skipper suffering a suspected torn hamstring during an intra-club practice match at Telstra Stadium on Friday.

The 30-year old left the ground only a few minutes into Collingwood's first hit-out for the season, and is now expected to be sidelined for a month.

The injury certainly rules him out of Collingwood's Wizard Home Loans Cup opener against Richmond on 18 February and given his poor run with injuries last season, he may even be questionable for the start of the AFL premiership season, against the Western Bulldogs on 28 March.

"We won't be worrying about the Wizard Cup, not with a hamstring," said Collingwood coach Michael Malthouse. "Whether it is two weeks or three weeks, you just move on with it. We're not cutting our wrists over it."

"He's a player who has had a hamstring problem. He knows the course of action to be taken and I am sure he will be back for the first game."

Buckley endured a troublesome 2004 with a pair of hamstring injuries restricting to just 15 games. His absence in the early part of the season was a key reason why the Magpies were virtually out of finals contention by the middle of the season.

The Pies, who played three 17-minute quarters, also lost first year player Travis Cloke to a bruised shin.

The injuries meant a sour end to Collingwood's four-day community camp in Sydney's western suburbs.

Keep out of Sydney Or am I being to hard on the pies?

When are they planning on finishing this game off?
