Legends of the game help raise funds for AFL South Africa

The AFL have commissioned a painting to raise money for AFL in South Africa.

It is called legends of the Game and one the people it will be featuring is Grant Thomas. Have I missed something but since when was Thomas regarded as being a "legend of the game".

    Absolute joke!
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

They don't need to play the game in South Africa!

They can play the game in either Rose Bay or St Ives!

Thats where 70% of the country's population live!!!

          They are such nice,friendly people
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

In all seriousness, the spread of Australian Rules footy to South Africa is really interesting. It seems that some see it to one day perform an important function in South African sporting culture. They think it may help break down racial barriers as it combines elements of soccer and rugby- it's seen as common ground.

Here's the link. Apologies if it has been posted before:
